Acer H9500BD 2000 Lumens 1080P Full HD 3D Home Theater DLP Projector w/ HDMI & USB
  • neweggOwned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: The HDMI blurring has been fixed and a color management system has been implemented in the new firmware. In addition, the 3D SBS tearing issue has also been resolved. A "VERY" good buy for $1600-1700. Very good. I posted a review, but NewEgg never posted it. C'mon guys. Post this. I can't update my first review.

Cons: Menu disappears too quickly. Only one user setting.

Other Thoughts: for the price and features, you can't beat it.

Acer H9500BD 2000 Lumens 1080P Full HD 3D Home Theater DLP Projector w/ HDMI & USB

Pros: (Posted elsewhere also)

I now have the firmware update and the HDMI blurring issue has been fixed. The image now appears sharper than the VGA output (as it should) and is, in fact, so clear it's crazy. I was actually considering backing off on the sharpness, but quickly got used to it. In addition, Acer has implemented an independent color management system, and the side by side (SBS) 3D tearing problem has been resolved. For $1699, you aren't going to find ANYTHING that has a vertical/horizontal shift adjustment and the clarity/color of this projector.

It is awesome. I went through a lot to bring the problems with the old firmware to light, but, now that Acer has fixed the issues, this projector is (IMO) an absolute "steal".

My earlier comments about Acer support were based on my experiences with Tier 1 support. Once I got past them and got to their next level of support (Tier 2), things picked up noticeable. When I got to their corporate (I think that's what it's called) sup

Cons: Menu could be easier to use

Other Thoughts: Great Deal for 3D viewing.

Color3 Advanced HDMI Color Processing Device

3 out of 5 eggs Not sure about this item 07/05/2012

This review is from: Color3 Advanced HDMI Color Processing Device

Pros: I think this may be of some help where a color management system is limited or non-existent. It may even help when the IS a good color management system.

Cons: The unit I got delayed the video outside of range of my receiver to sync to it. This "may" have been a defective unit as others haven't seen this problem. At the same time that I returned this unit and got a replacement (no problems there), my projector had to get sent in to the shop and I wasn't going to get it back until the return period from NewEgg was past. I didn't want to take the chance that the delay would still be there so I returned it for a refund. I never got a chance to really test it.

Other Thoughts: I just don't know if the delay was due to a faulty unit or whether it doesn't work well with my projector. If the price comes down a little, I'll probably buy another. NewEgg gave me no grief whatsoever when it came to the return.
