Solid Product

Hauppauge PCTV HD Pro Stick 801e USB 2.0 Interface
Hauppauge PCTV HD Pro Stick 801e USB 2.0 Interface

Pros: This product is definately worth the investment, the video quality is amazing. I live on a military installation next to a lot of different kinds of interference but it still picks up about a dozen clear channels. I'm running opensuse linux and it was a breeze to install with the v4l-dvd drivers, kaffeine media player picked it up automatically.

Cons: none

Overall Review: Seems to work a lot better under linux. The picture quality is way better and it even picks up more channels. The remote doesn't work under linux however, but with a wireless keyboard and kaffeine's keyboard interface that really isn't a problem. I havn't got the radio working yet either but that's a project for another time.

Worst Manufacturer I've Ever Seen

GIGABYTE Radeon HD 7970 3GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Graphics Card GV-R797OC-3GD

Pros: None for the price.

Cons: Burned out after only a couple months of light usage. This company makes the worst products I've ever seen. I burned my hand on the card removing it from the case, it almost caught my house on fire.

Buyer Beware, Phone Not Unlocked!

Nokia 100 Unlocked GSM Bar Phone w/ Flashlight / 1.8" Display 1.8" Black
Nokia 100 Unlocked GSM Bar Phone w/ Flashlight / 1.8" Display 1.8" Black

Pros: none.

Cons: This phone is falsely advertised as an unlocked cell phone, which is quite simply untrue. This phone has in fact been locked down to work ONLY with t-mobile and att&t directly, and none of their subsidiaries who run on their same network like simple mobile, rocket mobile, or H2O wireless. To reiterate, you can ONLY use this phone directly on t-mobile and at&t, so it is in fact NOT UNLOCKED! The directions are only in spanish, and since my spanish isn't very good, I tried the follow these instructions but eventually only ended with a twisted pile of plastic sitting in the trash. I would buy this phone again, only for the pleasure of ripping it apart once more.

Arrived in Styrofoam Peanuts and BUBBLE-WRAP!

Western Digital WD VelociRaptor WD1000DHTZ 1TB 10000 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
Western Digital WD VelociRaptor WD1000DHTZ 1TB 10000 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: I have not yet installed this hard drive in my new system build since I am waiting for Newegg to stock Gigabyte's new GV-R799D5-6GD-B 6GB Radeon HD 7990 card before proceeding, but this is a very high quality and fast hard drive based on prior ownership experience.

Cons: I couldn't hardly believe my own eyes when I opened this box to see that it was wrapped in BUBBLE-WRAP and STYROFOAM Peanuts. This causes all sorts of positive ions interacting with negative ions for MAXIMUM Triboelectric activity! All it takes is one little slip of the anti-static wrapper and BAM, paperweight! I'm praying this thing is not DOA as this sort of packaging accounts for the majority of DOA hard drives. Newegg needs to retrain their entire shipping department as punishment.

Overall Review: The technically inclined IT folks generally don't work in the warehouse, so I guess I shouldn't be overly surprised by this. Still docking an egg for packaging.

Great keyboard, bad software.

AZIO KB577U Levetron Mech5 Mechanical Keyboard w/ Cherry Black MX Switches
AZIO KB577U Levetron Mech5 Mechanical Keyboard w/ Cherry Black MX Switches

Pros: Great feeling, durable keyboard. There's a small break in period as with most mechanical keyboards, but soon enough the keys press like a charm, mechanical keyboards are unparalleled.

Cons: The "D" keys on the little slider tray get in the way while entering passwords, coding, etc. as the tray sticks out a little too far and tends to be a little bulky. The general idea is cool, but all they really are is F1-F6 as with all AZiO products, the bundled software is just for looks and does absolutely nothing at all, but this was to be expected having owned several of their products in the passed. Just don't expect to be able to use any of the macro keys for anything or resign the function keys on the "D" slider tray. Once again, as with all AZiO products, the bundled software is the best, don't expect to be able to download a newer version on their web site as it is never updated and really quite terrible to say the least. For instance, you won't even find a download at all for this keyboard, but there is one oddly enough for one of their other keyboards.

Overall Review: Hopefully they get the software working properly, I would love to be able to actually use some of these macro keys one day, but I'm not holding my breath. I buy AZiO products because they are way cheaper than Logitech and way better quality in construction, not so much for the bundled software.

Great mouse, but software is a no-go.

Azio Levetron 5000cpi GM533U Black USB Wired Laser Gaming Mouse
Azio Levetron 5000cpi GM533U Black USB Wired Laser Gaming Mouse

Pros: Feels great in the palm of the hand, heavy weight, feels durable. The removable weight system is pretty slick. I love how the default buttons control volume and mute. The mouse comes with a 3-year warranty and costs half the price of the Logitech G-9 I had that fell apart in less than a month.

Cons: but there is apparently no way to change these settings as the bundled software appears to do nothing at all no matter what you try. The AZiO web site is terrible, and there are no updated software downloads, in fact, sometimes there are no downloads or support at all for some of their products.

Overall Review: Hopefully they fix the software issues, but I'm not holding my breath.
