Best Out There (at the time)

EVGA 04G-P4-3687-KR GeForce GTX 680 FTW+ w/Backplate 4GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card
EVGA 04G-P4-3687-KR GeForce GTX 680 FTW+ w/Backplate 4GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Pros: * Run 2560x1440 on main monitor, 1920x1200 on secondary. Everything I have runs full quality. * Fairly Quiet

Cons: * Price compared to performance difference. There are better deals out there if you don't demand full quality at 1440p+ Res.

Overall Review: * Skyrim loaded up with mods like HD Textures, Lush Grass, etc run 40 FPS+ runs about 1.8gb video memory. * Crysis 3 runs full quality 30 FPS+ * Bioshock Infinite runs full quality 40 FPS+ (with latest drivers). * Battlefield 3 runs full quality 40 FPS+ * Most video memory I've seen used is BF3 after about an hour. Game obviously has a memory leak but I've seen it climb to 2.2 gigs+ (starts at about 1.4) TIPS: * Don't buy the extended warranty, when you register with EVGA it provides several better warranty options you can purchase then. * Download EVGA OC Scanner so you can run NV-Z, especially if you run a second monitor. * Glad I bought a 4gb card with games already pushing it today at my high res.

Great Price for Functionality

WD TV Live Media Player WDBHG70000NBK-HESN
WD TV Live Media Player WDBHG70000NBK-HESN

Pros: * Plays everything I put on a hard drive. * Allows skipping to specific time in a movie (old one didn't have that). * You can search video info online by year and it will tag a movie with information.

Cons: * Lags on netflix and hulu. (3 eggs for that) Family uses Bluray player for that stuff instead. * Interface is a little laggy and slow. * Locks up occasionally and requires restart. * You cannot tag a folder for info, so if a drive contains folders of movies you don't see information unless you open the folder and view individual files in that folder. (minor complaint)

Overall Review: --- Thoughts --- * Got for parent. Seems to be easy enough to navigate for someone older. --- TIPS --- * Bought this for playing movies over external hard drive, older model was good but much slower and clunky. * I recommend Media Center Master to automate meta-tagging a bigger collection. * Bought for $80 when on sale.

Surprisingly Good

EVGA SuperClocked 01G-P3-1567-KR GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Pros: * Still working (2 yrs) * Best bang for the buck (at the time)

Cons: * Can't handle 1440p from modern monitors. (well sort of) * Pretty Loud

Overall Review: * When I bought this card it was the best. I thought I'd never need more than 1gb of video memory. The problem is when I upgraded to a Korean special 27" Monitor and required 2560x1440. I went from being able to play everything at full quality to say medium to high quality. I was never ever really to push anti-aliasing past 2x before or after. * I've since upgraded to a 4gb card and push 2.4gb of video memory at the max on anything. It's just the nature of it. * I swapped the cooler on the card with an aftermarket cooler. It was a bad idea because it didn't fit right, but in the end it dropped the temps about 30 degrees and made the card significantly quieter. * The card now runs my home Media Center which is 10x overkill for that. I have no regrets though I got my moneys worth and it's a good card.

Still working good

Pros: * Still working (2 yrs) * Good bang for the buck (at the time)

Cons: * None

Overall Review: * Bought this for the wife after her ATI card died. Most intensive game she plays is the Sims. * Occasionally friends use her PC to play higher end games though, they don't run full quality but good enough at 1920x1200
