Worked great for almost five years
Pros: Easy to install and fairly robust design. Worked quite well for the four and a half, almost five years it was in service. The duty cycle during that time was almost continuous as the host machine was very rarely shutdown. Never had an overheat while this cooler was in service.
Cons: I can only assume the fluid pump died as the fans still run. The unit died without warning after a five day break while the host machine was not in use. No physical damage occurred to the host machine during this time, it was simply shut down and five days later, upon startup, the bios issued a fan failure warning and the processor temperature skyrocketed in spite of the fans running. Subsequent attempts to restart the machine after reseating cables yielded the same results.
Overall Review: Longer fluid hoses would have been nice so as to provide greater flexibility in mounting the radiator.
Died after 4 months
Pros: It does indeed provide plenty of power and includes a dust filter to help keep the unit clean.
Cons: Well the biggest problem Id say is the fact that it died out of the blue without warning after just 4 months of use. Wasn't even pushing it either, just watching a movie and then nothing.
Overall Review: Some people seem to have a problem with it's size but if you're getting a 1000 watt power supply, one would think you'd do your research and take measurments. True you can't turn off the port LED's but if you didn't want a glittery, power monster, why did you buy one? Quick fix though, cut up some black electrical tape into thin strips and cover up the clear plastic on the ports.
They do what Batteries should do
Pros: They store power as any battery should a discharge it when needed, can't ask for much else. Currently have all 8 arranged in two 48 volt arrays to provide an external reserve for my UPS. They keep one of my computers and all of my network equipment running for a reliable hour before the UP starts beeping it's 20% remaining warning.
Cons: None so far. I will update if that changes.
