Corsair Carbide Series 100R CC-9011075-WW Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case ATX (not included) Power Supply
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: very nice case. All black and easy to use.

Cons: Front panel 5 1/4" openings are too narrow for standard DVD / Bluray / Flash card readers etc. I had to modify front panel to allow mounting devices.

Other Thoughts: I have found all other Corsair products that I have purchased to be completely without problems and was surprised by this issue.

1 out of 5 eggs Does not Work with Alienware Aurora R2 05/25/2013

This review is from: Nippon Labs HDB-250 2.5" HDD/SS Metal Bracket Black Color

Pros: Compact and low cost.

Cons: Bracket does not hold the SSD power / SATA connectors in the right place for pre-wired cases. They are held 1" back into the case. This prevents prewired cables for some manufacturers to not reach the SSD.

1 out of 5 eggs Not for Alienware 05/25/2013

This review is from: Nippon Labs HDB-25351 2.5" HDD/SSD Aluminum Mounting Kit

Pros: Looks nice,. Low cost.

Cons: Will not work for Alienware Aurora R2 or possibly other cases that are prewired. The SSD / 2.5" drives are held 1" deep into cabinet, so that pre-wired power daisy chained power cables will not reach the connectors. I was able to kluge it to work after some fiddling, but only one SSD drive can be mounted in this way, and only one slot will work to hold it. I need to find a bracket that holds the power / Sata connectors in the same place as they are for a 3.5" drive.

Also, only 2, not 4 of screws in the tool-less Alienware mounting bracket line up with the SSD bracket.

Other Thoughts: Metal was saved in the design of this bracket by making it shorter than a 3.5" drive. But this causes things to not line up with connectors in pre-wired cases. Not all holes are present in the bracket, so some tool-less case designs are not compatible with this bracket.
