APC BE750G Back-UPS 750 VA 10-outlet Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)
  • neweggOwned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: Bought to handle router, modem, switch and 2bay NAS.
Used PowerChute software to silence all alarms.
Easy initial battery setup.

Cons: Rather large. Pay attention to dimensions if your space is limited.

Other Thoughts: Purchased this model because the alarms can be silenced.
This is the smallest/cheapest model with that feature.

Manufacture date was Nov 2012.

G.SKILL Sniper Gaming Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-1600C9D-16GSR

Pros: Used in a ASRock H87M. Selected XMP profile in bios for full speed.

I have always had a good experience using G.Skill ram.

Cons: None.

SilverStone PS08B Black High-strength plastic and meshed front panel MicroATX Mid Tower Computer Case
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: Great small and light case. Thumbscrews on side panels. Thin metal construction but entirely adequate. No frills - expect to use a screwdriver inside. Single ssd mount on floor. Easy cable mgmt with many tie locations. Quiet fan.

Completed a simple build with stock intel cooler, single ssd, gtx card and modular ps without issues.
Added a 92mm fan on back.

Did not fill 5.25" bays; used external USB3 DVD instead. This left lots of room for cable mgmt, which was minimal due to modular ps.

Last few builds were LianLi. This is my first Silverstone and I leave satisfied.

Cons: Adding platter drives will require memory removal first. And most likely cpu cooler as well if not stock.

Rotating the drive cage 90 degrees would solve this, but might make the case slightly wider.

Other Thoughts: ASRock H87M
SeaSonic X650 Gold
