This review is from: Seagate STBN6000100 6TB Business Storage 2-Bay NAS
Pros: in expensive, technicians are available to help.
Cons: false advertising - bought it as a "hot swappable" nas. To me it means that when a drive dies, you pull out the dead drive, leave the working one there and then replace the drive without ever shutting down the nas. My drive died and I put it back in "live". Technician tells me that I may have damaged the drive or the nas or lost the sectors or something like that. he said they do not recommend replacing a drive while the power is on. Look at the documentation, it says HOT SWAPPABLE, TECH SAYS NEVER DO THAT. I did it and luckily for me there was no damage.
Other Thoughts: Also, when the drive died, it seemed to have taken down the network, I could not access even the working drive. Had to debug (with help from technician) by pulling one out and then the other.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Completely Useless. Technician told me that if I have a wireless signal in this room why buy this. Also told me that if I have a high power appliance like a fridge the powerline signal will be weak and may not work.
Cons: Worse than useless. 2 computers in same 8x8 room. One connects wirelessly to original FIOS router at 18+ up and 17+ down. Other computer seems to have a week signal as it sometimes seems to loose connectivity (was not doing that when original router was closer). After I added TP Link, computer which got 18/18 now gets 5 down and 3 up. Other computer seems to be connected but did not do a speed test. Oh, one more thing, connecting a computer directly to the wireless tp link (i.e. hardwired) made no difference. The non-wireless speed is the same 5 down/3 up.
Other Thoughts: will try a standard wireless range extender, this doesnt work. Tech support is also hard to understand.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Rosewill RNX-N600UBE Wireless N600 Dual Band USB 2.0 Adapter
Pros: Fired up immediately, windows 7 home recognized it, no drivers to download, my speed on speakeasy.net went from 3/3 Mbps to 26/16Mbps. So you want to know what I had before - a trenda wireless n card so it should have been better. This adapter plugged into the same usb slot in the same computer.
Other Thoughts: usb cable is adequate length but could have been a foot longerREAD FULL REVIEW
