Microsoft Windows 8.1 - Full Version (32 & 64-bit)

1 out of 5 eggs A major mistake... 12/14/2013

This review is from: Microsoft Windows 8.1 - Full Version (32 & 64-bit)

Pros: Not much.

Cons: Upgraded from 8.0 to 8.1 and now all the Metro apps (including the Store) don't work. Google this, and you'll find this is a VERY common problem. Apparently the only solution is a complete and clean re-install of 8.1.

This is totally unacceptable.

Other Thoughts: MICROSOFT: I hope you read this. It is EXACTLY this kind of mistake that will push me towards Apple -- or ANY direction other than Microsoft.

Logitech K740 Illuminated USB Keyboard

2 out of 5 eggs Doesn't last 08/14/2013

This review is from: Logitech K740 Illuminated USB Keyboard

Pros: Good looks, nice feel, while it lasts.

Cons: The "a" key broke off. Unlike most keyboards, you can't just snap the key back into place... once a key comes off, it stays off. That makes this keyboard pretty much useless. The alternate function keys are pretty much useless, too.

Other Thoughts: For a keyboard this expensive, this should NOT be happening.

Crucial M4 2.5
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: more than 1 year

Pros: Fast... for a while.

Cons: Like so many other reviewers have experienced, mine won't boot after only 14 months. I'm working Crucial tech support for a replacement, but I'm not sure I want to use it if they haven't figured out a way to make this SSD last longer than 14 months.

Other Thoughts: This was the boot drive for my main work computer, and now I have to spend time and money just to get my machine up and running again. The scary part: I own two more of these, and I'm seriously thinking of yanking them out and replacing them before they crash too. Life is too short to put up with this junk.
