CM Storm Scout 2 Advanced - Gaming Mid Tower Computer Case with Carrying Handle and Windowed Side Panel - Black
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: -Nice matte black finish.
-Quality construction.
-Cable management is a dream.
-Large cable ports with rubber grommets everywhere.
-Removable hard drive tray for more room and better air flow.
-Dust screens on bottom/front intakes.
-Rubber power supply mounts.
-Sides bump out for more room for cables and fan options.
-Large cutout for mounting a backside CPU cooler bracket without removing the MB.

Cons: I like this case so much I couldn't take off an egg for these issues.
-Says it comes with MB standoffs but non were included. this was my biggest issue and forced me to steal some from an older comp.
-No dust screens for side intakes.
-The top buttons could be reset a 1/8" or so instead of being flush or made to be not so sensitive. While in the final cosmetic setup of my case I bumped the power button several times causing the machine to turn on or off when I didn't want it to. Now that the case is in it's permanent home I don't see this being and issue any more.

Other Thoughts: This case has room for just about anything you want to throw in it. I was worried when reading the paperwork that comes with it because nowhere online did it spec the max size for the CPU cooler but in the literature it says not to use a CPU cooler larger then 6.4" (162mm). Having purchased a Noctua NH-U14S at 165mm I thought I was going to be hosed but because of the bump out on the side panel it fits with at least an 1/8" to spare.

Cooler Master Blade Master 120 - Sleeve Bearing 120mm PWM Cooling Fan for Computer Cases, CPU Coolers, and Radiators

  • neweggOwned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: -Non neon.
-Very quite when installed horizontally even at 2000rpm.
-Fairly good air flow.

Cons: -The mounting screws are silver and don't look very good showing on the side exterior of my all black/red build.
-When these fans are mounted vertically (intakes on side panel) they are much more noisy then mounted horizontally. In this setup they become audible over 1000rmp (50%)

Other Thoughts: I have only just installed these fans so I can't speak to their longevity but overall I'm happy with them. Since my MB controls all my fan speeds I just set the side intakes to run at lower speeds to keep them quite unless my temps are peaking. Now I just got to find a place to buy black mounting screws.
