ADATA 500GB HD710 Waterproof / Dustproof / Shock-Resistant USB 3.0 External Hard Drive USB 3.0 Model AHD710-500GU3-CBL Blue
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Priced right.
Nicely armored.

Cons: Failed within 8 months of reasonably gentle use. ("Semaphore Timeout" error, would not read data).
The data cable connector on the case did not seem very robust.

Other Thoughts: Unfortunately I didn't buy the data recovery "warranty" from A-Data. This is the only HDD I've ever had fail. This thing cost me $1,200.00 to have the data recovered. I submitted an RMA request on the A-Data site this evening. I'll update this posting as the warranty request progresses.

EMERSON Dual-Alarm AM/FM Clock Radio CKS9031

2 out of 5 eggs Display too bright for a dark room 01/29/2013

This review is from: EMERSON Dual-Alarm AM/FM Clock Radio CKS9031

Pros: Priced right, auto time-setting, reasonable sound quality

Cons: It would make a good nightlight in a large bedroom. I prefer a very dark bedroom. This blue display is far too bright for my comfort, even on maximum dim.

Other Thoughts: If you can find the red display version of this unit it might not be as objectionable.

Koutech IO-RCM620 USB 2.0 3.5

1 out of 5 eggs 2 out of 2 failed 03/25/2009

This review is from: Koutech IO-RCM620 USB 2.0 3.5" Card Reader

Pros: IF it works it's OK.

Cons: First one was DOA. Steven at Koutech Tech support promised (twice) to email an RMA #. Steven failed to honor his word (twice). RMA'd to Newegg who treated me great. Second one has failed after 5 mo. Koutech, are you listening?

Other Thoughts: Based on my (and many others) experiences I believe a redesign is in order, along with FREE replacement (including FREE shipping BOTH ways) from Koutech. I'll be trying a Rosewill next. Or maybe an external; they seem to be more stable.
