GIGABYTE GA-Z68P-DS3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Affordable i5 2500k overclock supporting board.

Cons: Like a few others have mentioned in this review section, I have issues with the board shorting when to many mounting screws were used. I have to cut down the mounting screws from 6 to 3 in order to get the system to power up at all. I spent 3 hours troubleshooting other issues, trying different PSUs, ect, just to come here and read that other people had this issue.

A headache for sure, but its the actual functionality of the board in the end that matters, and right now it seems to be okay (Crossing fingers). I've only had it running for a few hours now, but I suspect no further issues.

Other Thoughts: Knocked off a couple of eggs just because of the shorting issue, and now I have to have the constant worry on my mind of the board not being "completely" secured.

Update: My family is now using this PC build as their office PC, and I recently had ANOTHER shorting issue with this board, which just randomly started occurring. Had to go back and reorganize the mounting screws again to get it working.

Corsair Gaming K70 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Red LED - Cherry MX Red Switches

5 out of 5 eggs Love this keyboard. My favourite. 11/15/2016

This review is from: Corsair Gaming K70 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Red LED - Cherry MX Red Switches

Pros: Feels as good as I had hoped it would. This was my first mechanical keyboard purchase and even though its loud, I can't even go back.
Bright LEDs
Options to change LEDs that are lit up, ect. Presets - not sure if you can use software to modify this.

Cons: Well, its switch based keys so they're raised up, which means its super easy for a lot of dirt/debris to get in there. I use an electronic air duster (Good replacement for expensive canned air) to help keep it cleaned out.

Other Thoughts: I love this keyboard. At one point I spilled soda on part of the keyboard, and it damaged some of the keys. Was entirely my fault so I'm not docking points for this. I don't expect a device like this to survive a large spillage like that. I bought the exact same keyboard again because I just love it that much.

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9Q-16GBXL
  • neweggOwned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: It was a good solid price when I purchased this set on sale. Very fast, as well.

Cons: So since I've built my new PC including these memory modules, I've been getting quite a few MEMORY MANAGEMENT BSOD errors. I've removed a couple of the sticks to try and figure out which ones are causing my stability issue, because I'm going to have to RMA them I believe. :(
