This review is from: ESET NOD32 Antivirus - 1 PC / 3 Years (CD Sleeve)
Pros: It does not slow my PC down when it is not scanning. Good phishing protection. It is definitely better than McAfee, Norton, and Windows Defender.
Reviews say ESET NOD32, Windows Defender, and Trend Micro have the least amount of false positives.
Cons: I think AVG Anti-Virus has a better user interface than ESET NOD32 Anti-Virus.
Other Thoughts: Windows 10 Professional (64-bit), 8 GB DDR3 RAM [1600 MHz], Intel i5-5200U (5th gen), Toshiba Satellite S50-C, 256 GB (M.2) SSD.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Lightning fast. Installs Windows updates quickly. Installed Windows 7 very quickly. Seems like it will last a long time. Seems like it is very reliable. I upgraded the hard drive on a 3 year old desktop PC. The old hard drive was a WD Blue.
Cons: Little pricey for a mechanical hard disk drive. I got the 500 GB WD Black HDD. With the same money you can buy a 250 GB solid state drive.
Other Thoughts: If you are deciding between getting WD Blue and WD Black then definitely get the WD Black. The WD Black is a lot faster than WD Blue.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: AVG Anti-Virus 2014 - 3 PCs
Pros: Got it for free with a mail-in rebate.
Other Thoughts: You can use AVG 2014 Free edition by downloading it from Avg.com or you can pay money for the AVG Anti-Virus 2014 Premium edition (3 PCs, 1 Year). The premium edition adds the "Online Shield" protection and "Data Safe" feature. I love the Graphical User interface for this software. This software doesn't slow down my computer. It provides decent protection. AVG Free Edition is better than Avast and Microsoft Security Essentials. Microsoft Security Essentials is very weak.READ FULL REVIEW
