COUGAR 12CM CFD Green LED Hydraulic (Liquid) Bearing Ultra Silent Fan 1200RPM, 64.4CFM, 16.6dBA - Retail

Pros: Cougar really makes some masterpieces with their fans. I own this and many other variants 140/PWM/standard and I really have to commend these fans. Very nice airflow even for the noise rating, whisper quiet, sleeved cable, vibration mounts good median LED brightness. I test each one before they go in the case and honestly they're almost completely inaudible unless you hold it next to your ear. Most of the time I run full tilt but I still couldn't be happier with the temps and airflow at lower RPM's thanks to a controller. Really the only fan I seriously feel great about having in my setup. They compete well real-world with corsair fans static pressure and airflow so well I swapped them on my H80iv2 cooler push/pull. Duds happen but I haven't had one yet.

Cons: Nil.

Other Thoughts: Cable length is decent, includes molex adapter, comes with them rubber pull thru and screws. I've used both and unless it needs to hold weight or span a thicker gap I usually avoid the screws. Cheap ones seem to pull apart doesn't seem to be the case here. These should be a new standard?

ARCTIC MX-4 Carbon-Based Thermal Compound, Non-Electricity Conductive, Non-Capacitive, Non-Bleeding - 20g
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: An icey little (fat tube) of non-conductive goodness you wish you had a 50 gallon drum full of. Sorry thermal only conductivity is huge for me. I use generous amounts of this and with a 20g tube that sorta helps. I'm not sloppy but i overexposed an evga gtx 560 1Gb ram rather purposefully in suicidal science and its held up coming close to a year now( I'm almost sure Afterburner tells me I got it down 1 degree celsius). Easily retains its original consistency after usage so reapplication should be much less often.

Cons: Sorta weirds me out that I really want a bunch of this paste and it comes in a syringe type applicator.

Other Thoughts: Doesn't break the bank for a sweet fat tube of awesome. Keep a good fresh transfer don't be a dummy!

WD Blue 320GB Desktop Hard Disk Drive - 7200 RPM SATA 6 Gb/s 16MB Cache 3.5 Inch - WD3200AAKX
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: more than 1 year

Pros: For what it is it's a great HDD.

Cons: nada.

Other Thoughts: I had it for about 4 years, now it lives on in a friends rig. Not much noise and easily reliable.
