Pros: There is no display port
Cons: None
Overall Review: Was getting mixed up with my Gigabyte Silent Radeon HD 6770
Replacement DOA, checked on 2 different machines
Pros: Looks pretty. Light as a feather. Works long enough to install Windows 7 then dies slowly locking the machine up.
Cons: Spent more time and money on shipping the thing back and forth.
Overall Review: I hope I can get a store credit as I have wasted $22.50 shipping this back twice. Samsung needs to work on their quality control. Not recommended.I am sticking to real hard drives for now.
DOA
Pros: Looks like a nice board has good features. Never worked properly out of the box. Would shut down randomly and the bis would change the boot options to a different drive or DVD. The power supply was a 1000w Enermax. The previous MB had no issues and the Asus one that replaced this one does not either.
Cons: http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/BIOS/mb_bios_ga-970a-ds3_f6.exe This may help someone out. I sent it back I did not like the powering on and off during restarts or reboots and the constant changing of options in the bios.
Overall Review: Need to remember to take notice of the feedback, this board has issues and has probably been rushed out to market. Waiting for New Egg to process the RMA.
Good Features for the money
Pros: Good feature for the money, forward thinking with backwards compatibility. Has Floppy port (really in this day and age) IDE connector and 8 SATA ports 2 of which are 6GBs and use a separate controller. Basically works fine now I have finally discover the SATA 3 ports have been randomly bad since I got the board. I even RA 2 Samsung SSD as they did not work in this board. I finally tracked it down when the Hard Drive on one odf the Sata 3 ports disappeared after 20 mins.
Cons: Providing SATA 3 ports to be used as boot drives with the ports going AWOL randomly is not good. This is my 4th ASROCK board and the only one I have had issues with.
Overall Review: Not recommended if you intend to use the2 sata 3 6 GBs ports . Otherwise a good basic board for a good basic PC let down by build quality. It is a pain to RA the board for 2 sata ports.
Good better than average card
Pros: Inexpensive, runs cool, runs quietly. Can be used for flawless Blu Ray and other HD playbck. Not a gaming card but will play casual games (Luxor Bejeweled HD versions) with no lag. Runs the Aliens vs Predator D3D11 Benchmark V1.03 scarily well.I am not a gamer but use the PC for running virtual machines, email, surfing, coding editing music and photos. A great all round card. Gigabyte also stands by the warranty. I personally have 7 various Gigabyte Video cards and they have all been reliable and good performers.
Cons: Not gonna play the latest games.,Why are you even looking here?
Overall Review: Obviously for the latest games you would not be looking here but if you want to upgrade your workstation this card is recommended providing you have at least a 400W PSU. For those of you with 2 of these cards and you wish to enable Crossfire, In the catalyst Control Centre place a check mark in the box "Enable Crossfire" and reboot. How hard is that?
10 years old in July 2013
Pros: 7200rpm standard IDE Hard drive. Reliable makes an excellent OS boot drive in a multi hard drive system. Exactly what I use it for.
Cons: It owes me nothing. 10 years old in July 2013.
Overall Review: Don't buy a huge hard drive for the OS, get one big enough. The OS will be faster on the dedicated drive like this.
