APEVIA X-FIT-100 Black Steel Mini-ITX Tower Computer Case 250W Power Supply

1 out of 5 eggs Low-profile cards won't fit! 02/14/2014

This review is from: APEVIA X-FIT-100 Black Steel Mini-ITX Tower Computer Case 250W Power Supply

Pros: Very compact.

Cons: Too compact - they could have made it 1/4" taller and been able to fit standard low-profile cards. Why they have a knock-out that you can't put a standard low-profile card into is beyond me. DO NOT BUY THIS CASE IF YOU WANT TO USE A LOW-PROFILE CARD!

Other Thoughts: Case has holes on back that wifi antenna (2) could use without drilling. Power supply fan a bit noisy (not suitable for a very quiet room). Side-to-side ventilation

Seagate BarraCuda 7200.11 ST31500341AS 1.5TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5
  • neweggOwned For: more than 1 year

Pros: Cheap. 7200RPM is a plus - good for general storage. Won't win a speed race.

Cons: Cheap. I've had several Seagate drives fail under warranty. I'm done with Seagate in favor of WD.

Other Thoughts: If you buy this, use some sort of RAID to protect your data...

Vantec Stealth 92 mm Double Ball Bearing Silent Case Fan - Model SF9225L
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: less than 1 day

Pros: Quiet, reasonable air-flow - I think an all-around good compromise of the two for either an extra case exhaust fan, or extra airflow across disks or vid card - though at 92mm, probably not the best for disks (120mm generally work much better)

Cons: Depending on cable routing, cord is a little short (about 12" or so)
