FAVI FE02RF-BL Black USB RF Wireless Mini SmartStick Keyboard with Mouse Touchpad
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: It works well. I haven't found any quirks in it's operation. Appears as a standard keyboard (ie no extra drivers; just plug it in). Works across room which for me is ~30 feet.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: Keyboard was used to turn an ancient celeron laptop into a media PC connected to wall mounted TV. A month later still have not recharged the built-in battery. If you want a very small keyboard for a Home Theater PC, then this works great!

HGST Deskstar NAS 3.5
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: HGST has the highest reliability ratings in backblaze.
Performance is very good.
Great way to store a lot of files.
I also back up the contents to a single usb HD to put in the Safe.

Cons: 4 TB is really 3.68 TB formatted.
Not a knock on HGST; all drives are like this.

Other Thoughts: For home user, I like the idea of using ReFS mirror for storage.
(1) If drive fails, you have an exact copy on second drive.
(2) If PC motherboard fails, you can plug a drive into any other Windows 8.1 PC for reading. In pre-packaged RAID box if the controller fails, can you get to the files easily or do you need to contact manufacturer?

BIOSTAR NM70I-1037U Intel Celeron 1037U Dual-Core 1.8GHz Intel NM70 Mini ITX Motherboard/CPU/VGA Combo
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: 4 SATA headers, mini-ITX form factor, boots in seconds, low electricity usage for 24-7 operation.

Cons: Only 1 SATA3 rest are SATA2.
Only USB2, no USB3.

Other Thoughts: It works very well as small cheap webserver.
