CORSAIR Hydro Series H60 (CWCH60) High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler

3 out of 5 eggs Noisy, unreliable 12/22/2013

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H60 (CWCH60) High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler

Pros: Good cooling, small form factor, easy install with excellent mounting brackets. Good quality fan. 5 year warranty

Cons: Noisy pump. After 12 months the unit started to intermittently fail. The computer would crash every second week. The cause turned out to be that CPU cooling temporarily failed and the CPU got into thermal shutdown which apparently causes Windows Vista to hang...

Other Thoughts: This was my first and last attempt with watercooling. When purchasing this, I did not realize that the pump adds another noise factor. Of course it should be obvious: in order to build a silent computer the number of moving parts should be kept to a minimum. I recently got a Silverstone Heligon H2 for my latest Haswell build and I love it!

Maybe Corsair fixed the noisy pump issue in the current V2 model...

ZOTAC ZONE Edition GeForce GT 610 DirectX 11 ZT-60603-20L 1GB 64-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card

Pros: Quiet. Drivers are buggy!!! Otherwise, not sure what to say. My 3 year old card with fan, same price, scored 4.7 in Windows performance. This one scored 4.6.

Cons: Very buggy drivers. I've been through 3 updates, and problems shift from black screens, to sudden death (reboot required).

Other Thoughts: This card may be good in 2013, but stay away from it until then.

SIIG Dual Serial Ports with Built-in 128-byte FIFO Buffer Model JJ-P20911-S2

1 out of 5 eggs What a waste of time. Flawed bracket (off by 2~3 millimeters) 07/01/2011

This review is from: SIIG Dual Serial Ports with Built-in 128-byte FIFO Buffer Model JJ-P20911-S2

Pros: Probably a good card if the pins make contact in your case/motherboard.

Cons: The metal bracket is flawed! When installed in my LianLi high end case with Asus motherboard, the pins don't make contact and the board is DOA. The board works if I remove the metal bracket, but what good is that. That's a flimsy and unusable installation. I've never had a problem with other boards in this machine...

Other Thoughts: My company purchased this card for me, so I'm happy I did not waste any of my own hard earned money. (This is why NewEgg can't verify me as a buyer - it went through the company). Unfortunately I did waste some of my Friday night on this...
