3 out of 5 eggs Nice case, weak plastic on front panel 09/27/2012

This review is from: Thermaltake Black SECC Japanese steel LANBOX Lite VF6000BWS Micro ATX Media Center / HTPC Case

Pros: This is a nice modular case, easy to get things into, easy to work with. The metal is sharper than other cases I've worked with, but still a decent case

Cons: While the case is nice, the front paneling is incredibly weak. I tiled the case up to get a better look at back motherboard outlet and while placing it back down, the whole front panel swiveled off. 3 out of 4 of the small plastic brackets were broken. This wasn't a high amount of force or angle (20 degrees, enough for me to get the light to shine in on it). The whole front paneling is plastic and very (apparently) flimsy. Compare this to another HTPC case I own, the Silverstone (, which is solid metal all around (although less modular to work with).

I suspect the case already came with 1-2 of the brackets broken and the tiling caused the others to shear off, but it doesn't help the fact that I now have a case that looks like it has had a stroke on its left side until I can epoxy the plastic brackets back on to the front paneling.
