SILVERSTONE ST1200 1200W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

  • neweggOwned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: Great PSU, works, well packaged. No complaints about the product that I wasn't aware of before purchasing.

Cons: I submitted all three labels from box with rebate package. I get this curt little snail-mail notice some weeks later stating that I provided "incorrect UPC label." Okay, $25 isn't going to devestate anybody's financial empire, but this is just insult added to injury after submitting a comprehensive rebate package.

CORSAIR Hydro Series H100 (CWCH100) Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Installed in Corsair's Obsidian case; was a breeze. Running a 3820 at a stable 4.7, so I guess I'm satisfied.

Cons: none...

Other Thoughts: Frankly, having no experience with this chip and case with an air cooler, I really don't know if the H100 is the hero or not for my OC. Sure looks cool, though!

EVGA GeForce 9800 GTX+ DirectX 10 512-P3-N873-RX 512MB 256-Bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Pros: Still a great price. Very cool looking. Plays all games with video knobs on 11......except Crysis! I just bought two of these to replace the 8600's I bought last summer in hopes that I could dial up everything to MAX. Crysis defaulted everything to HIGH with no ability to tweak settings higher.

Okay...I'm running an E8400 @ 3.0 ghz with 2 gigs of ram on a 680 MSI board. What gives? Is it the game itself? Or is it my other components?

Bottom line is that these cards are sure to drive all other games I've got, or will get for some time to come.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I purchased a Rosewill 850 watt PSU to feed these cards. My 650 watter only had two 4-pin PCIe plugs, and with an adapter (I know...not a good idea) would'nt even boot. After installing the bigger PSU and hitting the GO button, 5 GFI circuits in my house tripped, the circuit my computer is on stayed live. I'm not an electrician, but this house is only 1 year old! Guess I'll have to get someone to install higher amperage GFIs???
