Pros: I do repair work for a variety of major vendors. Several vendors require me to record the SN of the defective part as well as the good part - some of the bar codes on the parts are VERY SMALL and/or don't offer the best contrast. This scanner can read ALL OF THEM! Apple does use some 2D codes that this unit can't read, but only because this is not a 2D scanner, it's a bar code scanner. I have not had the need to use the bar code conversion feature of the scanner, but I'd wager it will do just fine.
Cons: The low price might imply a cheap product - inexpensive yes, CHEAP - NO!
Other Thoughts: It would be nice to do 2D codes, but you can't have everything.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: HooToo® HT-UH007 USB 3.0 HUB (4 Port, Bus-Powered, Built-in 1ft USB 3.0 Cable)
Pros: This a great tool to have handy! I was concerned that it isn't "powered", but somehow it can power my external USB HDDs and definitely has no problems with Flash drives. I was also concerned about possible speed degredation, but it has NO EFFECT on performance. I ran a series of benchmarks on Flash & HD drives both with and without the HooToo HUB in place, speeds were THE SAME! I also tested it on a USB 2.0 BUS and it performed great, just as on the USB 3.0 BUS, but at the USB 2.0 speed. The HooToo HUB was tested on a MacBook Pro with USB 2.0 and on an EVGA P67 SLI Mobo PC with native USB 3.0 ports.
Cons: None so far!
Other Thoughts: If you USB ports are side by side AND another device with a larger than normal width, USB connector (like some flash drives) using the HooToo may get a bit tight or not fit altogether. The USB connector on the HooToo HUB is NOT larger than it should be, but is what I would call full size.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: BYTECC BT-370 3-in-1 USB 2.0 to Standard SATA, Slim and Micro SATA Adapter
Pros: Not promoting, just explaining.
Cons: Not demoting, just explaining.
Other Thoughts: That "post production slip of paper" is key ... the unit would NOT turn on for me no matter what I did. Now I've been told to NEVER connect/disconnect hardware while it's LIVE (powered/turn on/energized, etc) - until now. (1) Connect the molex +12v/+5v 4-pin connector to BT-370. (2) Turn on the BT-370 (NOTE: the red light comes on). (3) Connect BT-370 to your SATA device. (4) Connect USB cable to your computer (NOTE: appropriate SATA LED lights up). You should be good to go ...READ FULL REVIEW
