Koutech IO-ASS112 mSATA SSD to 1.8

5 out of 5 eggs Compatible 10/07/2013

This review is from: Koutech IO-ASS112 mSATA SSD to 1.8" SATA Drive Converter

Pros: It allowed to easily replace the old 1.8" HDD with an SSD. The size fits well the cradle and it is not loose. The system recognized it without problems.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I had to upgrade to the latest version of the "Intel Rapid Storage" software

Crucial M500 240GB Mini-SATA (mSATA) MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CT240M500SSD3

Pros: The solid state drive Self encryption is OPAL compliant and recognized by our enterprise management tools. It is really Fast compared to old HDD and the hardware SED avoids the typical encryption performance hit.

Cons: Not really, except I wish SSDs were less expensive.

Other Thoughts: Windows HDD experience index jumped from 5.0 to 7.6. The mSATA form factor with an adapter replaced an uncommon 1.8" HDD in a Tablet PC.

Athena Power AP-MPS3ATX40 400W Micro PS3 / ATX12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready DELL, HP Upgrades/Replacement Power Supply
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: This was the only PSU available for small HP cases and large capacity (400W). This is a PS3 micro-ATX form factor; it is NOT the most common SFX PSU. It has plenty of cables and options for upgrades.

Cons: None so far, it is very difficult to find this rare form factor.

Other Thoughts: The PS3 micro-ATX has the same dimmensions in the front as standard ATX PSUs. However the deep is 2 inches shorter thus it can fit any standard ATX case.
