NEXT GENERATION RE 433 PLUS Remote Extender Plus

  • neweggOwned For: 1 week to 1 month

5 out of 5 eggs interesting device 06/17/2014

This review is from: NEXT GENERATION RE 433 PLUS Remote Extender Plus

Pros: looks like a UFO.
works well 99% of the time.
battery lasts a long time (haven't had to charge it after having a few months!).
Came with 2 batteries.
Has extra IR eye+cords to hide this thing.

Cons: Looks odd.

Other Thoughts: I use it for my CCTV DVR remote.... dvr is hidden in closet, with this IR ufo in front of it. Remote works anywhere in house (1-story stud walls).

Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 2.5

Pros: just works.
faster than HDD.
small, physically cooler than HDD.
noticeably less power consumption in laptop.

Cons: wish it was bigger for cheaper

Other Thoughts: Bought the same brand a year ago, and it works great, so I bought two more recently for a laptop HDD replacement and a spare for another desktop. Faster boot as advertised, no problems in a year.

In Win BP655 mini ITX case with Haswell Ready 200W power supply, 8cm Fan, Black, TAC 2.0, Front USB 2.0X2, HD audio

Pros: small, black, front usb+audio, power supply on side to avoid cpu heatsink space issues.

Cons: a few area around the dive cage have sharp edges.
Have to remove the drive cage to screw hard drive into it. 80mm case fan was a little loud.

Other Thoughts: 24 pin mobo power connector on included supply was actually 20+4 for compatibility, plus the cpu 4+4 12V connector. I only used the 4 pin cpu connecter and left the add-on +4 dangling. I have not experienced any power supply fan noise that others had. I did not use an optical drive, so I bundled the spare usb, power, and sata cables in that bay. Power led is very bright. I ordered an extra Arctic 80mm fan to replace the 80mm case fan, as other reviewers said it was a little loud and I agree although it was acceptable if not at 100% speed. I also but foam weather stripping around the case fan mount to make sure the air was heading out, instead of though the gap between the fan mount and case... you'll see.
