Cheap Product - Terrible Customer Service

Pros: For the 2 months that this laptop worked, it ran relatively well. It was fast and had it worked longer I would have been satisfied with it.
Cons: I purchased this laptop because I was under the impression that Lenovo made quality laptops and did not use cheap components. The hard drive on this laptop died two months after I purchased it. When I called Lenovo to get it fixed because of the one year warrantee and the extended service plan I purchased, the experience was less than satisfying to say in the least. Right off the bat, there was so much static on the line that I couldn't understand the customer service rep and had to repeatedly ask him to repeat himself. Despite that I continued on with the conversation, during which I was told that I would have to pay an additional charge to have Windows reinstalled on the laptop in order to get the hard drive replaced. When I questioned this, saying that I'd almost rather purchase a hard drive and install it myself just on principle, the customer service rep immediately became combative, telling me that I would spend more for a copy of Windows than to pay for Windows to be reinstalled. (Apparently it was silly for me to assume that when I purchased a computer with Windows preloaded that I should expect the warrantee to cover it being reinstalled if the hard drive went bad.) I then told the customer service rep that I would install another existing copy of Windows that I already owned, and to make a long story short he accused me of piracy. I will never purchase another Lenovo product again.
