4 out of 5 eggs Works ok 12/28/2013

This review is from: FSP Group Mini ITX combo 150W Mini ITX Power Adapter

Pros: - High wattage for size
- Small form factor for mini ITX

Cons: - Slightly misleading

Other Thoughts: The AC-DC power brick is labeled as a 150 Watt unit at 12V & 12.5 A output as read off the brick itself.

The DC-DC power supply itself however does not seem to have the same rating. The manual was forwarded to me by the manufacturer after contacting them via e-mail since I could not find the manual online. +1 for their quick reply.

The manual has the following specifications (Normal/Max/Peak)
+3.3V 2.5A 7A 8A
+5V 2.5A 7A 9A
+12V 2.5A 6A 8A
-12V 0.05A 0.1A 0.15A
+5Vsb 0.8A 1.5A 2A

Taking the maximum sustainable ratings and adding them up I get (3.3V * 7A) + (5V * 7A) + (12V * 6A) = 130 A with an asterix because the combined draw from 3.3V and 5V can't exceed 50 Watt.

Newegg rates this power supply at 7.89 A on the 12V as listed in specifications which is probably the "peak" rating in the manual which can only happen 3 seconds every minute.

Using it with a 65W AMD A4-6300 so should be ok. Unit powers up and stays running.

Will update after a few weeks.

Foxconn AHD1S-K AMD E-350 APU (1.6GHz, Dual-Core) AMD Hudson D1 Mini ITX Motherboard/CPU Combo

Pros: Decent feature set
HDMI out
Silent (except for case fan)

Cons: Limited BIOS options
Needs decent case fan

Other Thoughts: When I assembled this with a ANTEC ISK 100, the I/O shield did not line up. Unsure if the problem is with the I/O shield itself or with the screw placement on the case.

Also had trouble with initial Windows install (both Premium and Professional). After 3-4 re-images, I started to troubleshoot by installing each windows update one at a time. The update that cased BSOD for me was the ATI 6300 graphics card update for the onboard graphics. The install would freeze and then only safe boot would be possible.

I have not had thermal problems like the previous post but only had the board for a few days. Just wanted to give an early review since there are only a few reviews so far.
