AMD Athlon II X2 245 Regor Dual-Core 2.9 GHz Socket AM3 65W ADX245OCGQBOX Desktop Processor
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: This is a great CPU
Fast and affordable

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: My earlier comment about having issues with a Biostar board turned out to be a problem with a USB card reader. Not sure why an upgrade to a dual CPU would react this way but all is OK now as long as the card reader is not active during bootup.

AMD Athlon II X2 245 Regor Dual-Core 2.9 GHz Socket AM3 65W ADX245OCGQBOX Desktop Processor
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 day to 1 week

Pros: Seems to be a ggod step up from my other LE-1640
Most notably faster with multiple windows open.
Does not seem to be overheating

Cons: Having some issues with my MCP6PM2+ mobo. I flashed to the new bios but still get an occasional boot error screen.

Other Thoughts: I may have to go with an AM3 ready board instead.

HEC 6C60BSOH48D Black / Silver 0.8mm SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 485W Power Supply
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: less than 1 day

Pros: Seems to be a value equal to what I paid. Nice design and plenty of room.

Cons: Typical complaint of thin metal and the knockouts are somewhat difficult to remove. I also had to take some time to figure out the mobo fasteners. I've never before had one that did not require standoff on all points. This uses raised metal mounts on 3 of the MATX board mounts. Simple once I figured it out. The adjustable CPU fan cone is a bit of a joke to adjust.

Other Thoughts: I have not yet started the PSU that it came with as I have just now moved my main system to this using my good PSU. It is not as heavy as my Thermaltake 400 but it has wire fan guards and that is always my first observation in buying a PSU.
