Unreliable piece of junk
Pros: - Cheap - High capacity
Cons: - Cheap - Unreliable - Poor quality (bad blocks a month after purchase) - Total failure after less than a year
Overall Review: Only used this to store backups, but failed with bad blocks within 12 month. This was the last time I bought Seagate junk - reliable storage is just too important to just buy the cheap junk.
Piece of useless junk
Pros: Dirt cheap
Cons: Made in China - and you get what you pay for. Slow, unreliable
Overall Review: This was the last drive I bought from Hitachi/HGST and most likely will avoid their new owner WD from now on as well. I had this piece of junk for about 2 years and then it just came up with a controller error from one day to the next. Of course no warranty coverage any more.
Major problems with USB 3.0
Pros: Stable, good overclocking options, nice bios menu, allows 64 GB of memory
Cons: usb 3.0 does not work. devices are not being recognized, sometimes fixed by reboot (not overclocked system), useless support
Overall Review: I would not buy it again. Spent $300 and am stuck with USB 2.0 because the 3.0 implemention on this board is buggy.
Raid is a piece of junk...
Pros: Besides the raid function, it works nicely.
Cons: The raid (5) crashed several times, the last time with incorrectly marking two drives bad, which brought the complete driveset down. Support for this is non-existent.
Overall Review: Last time I bought Asus junk.
