SKULLCANDY PLYR 2 Circumaural Wireless Headset - White

5 out of 5 eggs Just what I needed 02/14/2013

This review is from: SKULLCANDY PLYR 2 Circumaural Wireless Headset - White

Pros: Excellent volume control knob on side to adjust sound and equalize game vs voice over IP. The fit is comfortable at first but looses a little bit of shape (some people complain they are tight but that stops after a week of use.

Stereo sound is fine I don't need 7.1 but bass is essential as I listen to dubstep. This set of earphones has a switch I didn't realize would be so handy. It's by the other controls and it has bass-boost, powerful, and something else. Look on the box. Anyhow they change the sound and overall it's incredible.

I had been seeking a pair I could specifically use as wireless but charge with a cord WHILE I use them - because nothing ruins a raid more than the tank texting the GM 'my headphones just quit again'.

Cons: I hate the little red stripe on the side underneath the white. I prefer plain white. Red is too angry! My PC is orange/white. Why can't you match my earphones to it, darn you Skullcandy!! ;)

Other Thoughts: I have to tuck my ears into the space for them and I have very tiny ears? I am not sure if this was meant to occur but if you are built like dumbo you might want to keep the receipt in case you do not like the fit.

Pros: Toolless instillation is AWESOME. Runs silent even though I saw reviews that said something about a buzzing or high pitch sound? Paired mine with a Corsair case (600T I think) and honestly I love them. I adore the color, I adore the silence, but I expected a little more... oomph to the airflow output. It's not bad but it's also not the powerhouse I imagined it to be.

Cons: None yet honestly. They only make a noise when you physically stop them from turning while they are trying to run otherwise these are rather quiet.

Other Thoughts: Even a simple diagram of how to install and uninstall the fixer pins (toolless devices) would be SO USEFUL. I mean sure after a few minutes starting like a monkey I figured out how to put them on, then I excused myself for a moment. When I came back my partner put them on facing backwards. It took me actually resorting to google to see tech videos explain to remove the toolless fixer pins without cutting them you need to pull them out like you did to install then the fans eventually pop free.

I know it's stupid and menial but for those of us who know our stuff but don't work in the field constantly seeing updates to technology a simple "how to" on the box would be lovely. Instead the box has a ton of writing on how awesome the fans are when the company could let the fans speak for themselves!!

Pros: As the title says it survived a 24 hour duel torture stress test on a gaming rig with 4 fans and a water cooler. Nuff said? Good stuff.

Cons: Very few flaws in operation. Nothing compared to some of the other brands out there.

Other Thoughts: Not a memory expert sorry I can't add more. I can build a PC and have advanced education on the subject but never dove into the specifics of memory. All I know is that it managed to run fine under a few tests that specifically stressed the memory so it would burn hot and hard. Was stable.
