5 out of 5 eggs Enthusiast Perfection for X-79 platform! 11/04/2013

This review is from: ASUS Rampage IV Extreme LGA 2011 Intel X79 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Extended ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: This Board is Amazing, it has so many great features that I wouldn't have enough time to list so that being said the main pro's that I have found have been the bios flashing features, and the extreme tweak bios utility. Secondly the real time monitoring options whether it be via oc key or laptop rog connection. either way its great for on the fly adjustments.

Cons: none so far.

Other Thoughts: This board is fairly versatile and can be used by novice level pc builders/overclockers, or the high tech enthusiasts of the gaming community, lets face it, this board is a prime example of what asus was thinking when they first opened there ROG division. however I would like to point out that your less experienced users wont know what to do with 80% of the features that this board offers without first spending a lot of time researching the more advanced aspects this board offers customization for. However if you are a gamer and you want lga 2011 this is the best option no matter how experienced of a builder you may or may not be.

Cooler Master V8 GTS - High Performance CPU Cooler with Horizontal Vapor Chamber and 8 Heatpipes

Pros: This cooler is clearly the best looking cooler available in todays market, however its performance that has surprised me the most. At first I was a bit conflicted with my choice to purchase this mildly expensive cooling solution, however after having it for over a month now and seeing its performance when combined with my haf x full tower and 4820k ivy bridge e processor I am extremely satisfied with my choice. Also I have that little added bonus of every single component within my case being black and red so its very appealing to look at as well as quiet and cool.

Cons: it seems a bit heavy, just hoping it wont put too much stress on my motherboard.

Other Thoughts: ive read several complaints about people struggling with the installation of this cooler and I found that removing the fan shroud assembly and using a t handle with a 1/4 inch drive bit with a 10mm socket made installation a breeze. its always nice to have the right tools for the job so if you have that stuff you can just toss the included wrench to the side, if not home depot has a nice set made by husky for like 20 dollars.

Pros: This Processor has exceeded my expectations in every way possible since day 1, at first I started off taking it easy on overclocking and stability testing only increasing my voltage to 1.2v and my multiplier to 42 thus increasing my overclock to 4.2 ghz. that being done I ran a 24hour stability test and never reached a temp over 60c so I then decided to increase the voltage to 1.25 and multiplier to 44 and ran another stability test for 24 hours and still never peaked over 67c. currently my system is air cooled by a coolermaster v8gts in a coolermaster haf x full tower using a rampage iv extreme motherboard. I never expected to get 4.4ghz out of this thing without installing a custom w/c loop.

Cons: None so Far

Other Thoughts: If you are considering building a x79 system this processor may or may not be exactly what your looking for based on your personal needs. but if you feel this processor would be a good fit for you I can say from personal experience it will be above your expectations.
