Mushkin Enhanced Ventura Plus 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model MKNUFDVS64GB
  • neweggOwned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Fastest USB drive I own - and I own quite a few. It works well even with smaller files. Will max out a USB 2 port, something USB 2 drives can't even come close to.

This drive feels nice! It's one of the very few PC components I touch just for the heck of it ;-)

Cons: None. The drive doesn't lose the cap - I do! Besides, the cap can be attached to the back of the drive when in use.

Other Thoughts: Writing small files to a USB drive can be painfully slow. The Mushkin drive writes small files MUCH faster than my Patriot 128GB USB 3 drive.

This USB drive is one of the PC components I consider top notch. My Mushkin SSD's are also on the list, though they are topped by the Samsung 840 Pro.

Seagate Expansion 3TB USB 3.0 3.5
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: Works as advertised. 2.72GB space available after formatting (NTFS).

Cons: None that I know of.

Other Thoughts: Seems to run cool. With 300GB free space I have not had any problems. Plug and play.

Mushkin Enhanced Chronos Deluxe 2.5
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: Worked right out of the box. WEI 7.9. At about $1.17 / GB it's downright cheap, while using the best / fastest toggle NAND chips available. Came with latest firmware version 3.3.2.

Cons: Packaging - a flimsy plastic clam-shell, as most other brands use. The older Mushkin Callisto Deluxe SSD's came in a much more protective box. I'd gladly pay another $10 for better, more protective, packaging. This SSD would STILL be a bargain compared to its (non-existing) competition.

Other Thoughts: This is my fourth Muskin SSD (120GB & two 60Gb Callisto Deluxe). All of them worked the first time and every time. I have not had a single problem. (All my problems have been related to the motherboard).

Do your homework before fiddling with new technology. Most problems can be avoided, if only the user was as good as the hardware.

My system:
Motherboard: MSI P67A-GD65 (B3), BIOS 1.18
CPU: i7 2600K @ 3.4GHz
CPU cooler: Gelid Tranquillo CC-TranQ-01-A
RAM: 16GB G.Skill F3-10666CL7D-8GBXH 7-7-7-21
SSD: Mushkin Chronos Deluxe 240Gb, Mushkin Callisto Deluxe 120GB
HD: Two WD 6400AAKS (Striped)
DVD: Lite-On 24X iHAS424-98
Case: Cooler Master RC-692-KKN2 CM690 II
PSU: Corsair AX750

WEI: 7.6 / 7.6 / 7.2 / 7.2 / 7.9
