Intel X25-M Mainstream 2.5
  • neweggOwned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Fast, very fast, and extremely fast!
I can't believe how fast my MacBook Pro is now. It boots OS-10.6 in less then 25 seconds, and half of that time is on POST! This may be a more costly upgrade, but worth every penny. You will notice the performance immediately, and everything is improved. MS office, Web browsers, mail, iPhoto, iTunes all load almost instantly.
Heres what it offers:
Blindly fast speed for all apps.
Less weight
No moving parts, less MTBFs
Less heat
More battery life...
You simply can't beat Intel SSD... "My SSD ROCKS"

Cons: The only one is cost and that will keep dropping.
The price has almost dropped 100 dollars in the past two months.
The CON would be migrating your OS to the new drive. If you have a MAC and time machine this is a non issue, and worked great.
The price has almost dropped 100 dollars in the past two months.

Other Thoughts: I plan to have an Intel SSDs in all my work and personal machines within the next year. And will not buy a new machine again without a SSD.
The performance increase is simply to big to ignore and not have.
I think all SSDs are created equal, I think Intel has better algorithms to handle different file formats and different types of reads and writes. And from what I have seen so far, I would have no other reason to look elsewhere.
