Great for production

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X - 16-Core 4.5 GHz - Socket AM5 - 170W Desktop Processor (100-100000514WOF)
AMD Ryzen 9 7950X - 16-Core 4.5 GHz - Socket AM5 - 170W Desktop Processor (100-100000514WOF)

Pros: CB 23 score of 39,262 with PBO Curve Optimizer set to -15 all core with DDR5 6000 CL40-40-96 RAM, and 39,009 when power PPT limit is set to 200W. I'm using a Gigabyte x670 Aorus Elite AX and an EVGA 360mm AIO with Arctic P12 fans. I didn't take a screenshot of my single thread CB score but I believe it was 2080. I also get >37k score running CB within a VMware Workstation VM, which I don't think is Alder Lake or Raptor Lake can achieve anywhere near that because VMware Workstation can only use E cores or P cores, not both at same time last I read.

Cons: Idle power with x670 board with 2x 32GB DDR5 sticks is around 30W higher than my 5600x on Asus Tuf B550m board with 4x 16GB DDR4 sticks.

Overall Review: Money was burning a hole in my pocket, a much wiser decision would have been to wait for X3D versions of 7000 reviews compared to Intel 13th gen Raptor Lake since I do occasionally play games. Ultimately, I would have ended up with an AMD chip regardless until VMware Workstation supports E core and P core at same time.

Good drive

SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 ST1000DM005/HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 ST1000DM005/HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Bought two @ 59.00 and neither was DOA. Good performance for price

Cons: none so far

Overall Review: I expected 1 trillion bytes (1000 GB or 931.3225746 GiB) but Windows Disk Management reports 931.52 GB (using GiB value with GB label) so I'm adding an egg because I got 197.4254 MiB more than what I paid for WOW!!! :) Have first partition of one drive at 92GB for 8.6ms random access time and used as boot drive. 101.3MB/s min read on partition 140.3MB/s avg read on partition I was getting upto 70MB/s write when ghosting from old drive to new drive which may have been more of a read limitation of my old drive. I could have bought an SSD but needed some extra storage and wanted to have a Software RAID 1 volume for my pictures and documents for a little extra protection between backups.

Great budget board

Foxconn 761GXK8MB-RS 939 SiS 761 GX Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Foxconn 761GXK8MB-RS 939 SiS 761 GX Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Cheap as dirt with 15 buck instant rebate and install was easy. Board came with newest BIOS available so maybe Newegg got a new batch?

Cons: No problems.

Overall Review: Board is for my friends grandmother but that didn't keep me from playing around with OC settings :) Running XP 3200 Venice 2ghz with 246 FSB setting and 166mhz RAM setting resulting in 205mhz(410 dual channel) RAM and 2.46ghz cpu. The chipset didn't want to go any further. Prime95 had errors around 249FSB even with RAM running well below 200mhz, and the onboard NIC cut out around 251 FSB intermittently. However, this board isn't in the OC board price range, so any OC ability is just a plus (460mhz in this case)... There's really not much OC features on this board so don't buy it for that purpose. You can adjust FSB in 1mhz increments to well beyond what the board will handle, however there's not much control over RAM besides timings or choosing lower preset 100/133/166 speeds so your DDR400 ram doesn't end up OC'd too much. There are no cpu/mem voltage adjustments, so if whatever processor doesn't want to go as high on stock voltage as the MB would have allowed you're out of luck

Canon PowerShot A620 Silver 7.1 MP 4X Optical Zoom Digital Camera
Canon PowerShot A620 Silver 7.1 MP 4X Optical Zoom Digital Camera

Pros: Lots of features for a camera in this price range. Ready to take a pic in ~1 sec from power-off state! Great for moments that you would otherwise miss on cameras that take 5 seconds or so to start up. Picture browsing on the camera is really nice you can zoom out to see a page of pics instead of 1 at a time. Can also see a histogram to check if you may need to retake the pic. Pic/movie playback to TV

Cons: Didn't see a way to transfer files from the camera directly, It wanted to use the camera as a Twain device (like a scanner) so the 3mb pics take of 30mb... Work around was to just use a card reader instead of plugging camera into computer.

CORSAIR 2GB Secure Digital (SD) Flash Card Model CMFSD133-2GB
CORSAIR 2GB Secure Digital (SD) Flash Card Model CMFSD133-2GB

Pros: No problems, camera can store pic and is ready to take next one with almost no delay. No problems recording 60fps videos on my Canon A620 camera. Have been able to store a DivX movie on it and watch it w/o problems too :)

Cons: No problems found.

Overall Review: Only got 22x transfer in my Kodak 6 in 1 card reader testing with SiSoft Sandra. Do not know if prob is reader or SD card as the card reader is pretty old so I can't put that as a con w/o knowing which is the culprit.

Good temporary card

MSI MX4000-T128 GeForce MX4000 128MB 64-bit DDR AGP 4X/8X Low Profile Video Card
MSI MX4000-T128 GeForce MX4000 128MB 64-bit DDR AGP 4X/8X Low Profile Video Card

Comments: This is by no means a gaming card. It is a good price for a low end card though and better then the cheaper cards I see ATM on New Egg. This card would be on par or better than integrated video. It is a little slower than an MX440. It is way slower than a ti4200, if you need a replacement for a ti4xxx series with same performance level you should look at an FX5600 or Radeon 9500. Note that the FX5200 is not much better than an MX440 and way worse than a ti4200 (just a heads up so people don't think an FX5200 is suitable replacement for ti4200 cause it's not). If you are are in a position that you want to upgrade your computer piece by piece and upgrade your motherboard first and don't have extra money to get a nice video card but need one because your last MB used integrated video, this will work nicely, however I recommend trying to get a motherboard with PCI Express slot and a PCI Express video card for better upgrade options down the road (ie finding a motherboard upgrade with an AGP slot is going to be hard in a couple more years). Check out the "VGA Charts" at tomshardware for graphics card comparisons. Also on New Egg's site when you are viewing a Video card after clicking the link in search results, click Item Intellegence link, then "Datasheet of Mainstream GPUs & VPUs". It is a spreadsheet you can use to compare cards that you can't find benchmarks on. Compare the card in question with a card of same era and chipset series and then compare the core/memory Freq, pipelines, and memory interface. Memory Interface and Pipelines being of more importance than Freq.
