Awesome, but DSM has a fair learning curve

Pros: Quiet Easy to operate Great out of the box experience DSM seems like it has a lot of potential Great price point
Cons: DSM feels complicated Not a lot of documentation (just the community forums and wikis)
Overall Review: The DS213j is an awesome little machine. I plan on using this as the backup for all of our devices and act as our media and download server. Getting it up and running was a breeze. That being said, it is slightly complicated. DSM has a lot of potential and add-ons, but it is not always clear how to use them. Things don't come with a great deal of documentation or explanation and if you run into issues you have to go scouring the internet. I'm relatively tech savvy - I'd argue slightly above average - so this is not the end of the world. I enjoy learning the nuances of these systems and expanding my understanding of IT, but people of my same ability should not expect to feel 100% at home upon first start up. Otherwise this seems like a great unit and exactly what I wanted for a great price point. I would highly recommend to others.
WD30EFRX

Pros: Drives worked right of the box. The packaging seemed fairly decent with air cushions for both drives. The units themselves run cool and quiet in my NAS, just as hoped for!
Cons: None yet - hope these don't suffer from a short life cycle, but will update if I have problems
Overall Review: 5 eggs for now, but will update as I get further into their life.
