Loving it!

MSI Laptop GT Series Intel Core i7-2670QM 12GB Memory 1TB HDD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570M 15.6" Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit GT683DXR-633US

Pros: Super fast. Overclocking button is great, as is the gaming fan button. Keeps the innards nice and cool. Has maxed out settings of every game I've thrown at it. Screen side lighting feature is sort of gimmicky, but I like it.

Cons: Flimsy case. If I travel with the thing, I'll often have to click the two halves of the screen shell back together. No back-lit keyboard and buttons are strangely laid-out. I have a mechanical keyboard hooked up to it usually so I only notice this when I travel, but the layout of the keys takes some getting used to and are at a height that isn't conducive to typing.

Overall Review: Very pleased with my purchase, but make sure you fill out your warranty info when you get your comp - their site says you don't need to register, but apparently if you don't, they won't fix your computer. They only give you a few weeks to register from date of purchase, so don't delay!

Has some issues

RiDATA Ultra-S Plus 2.5" 64GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) NSSD-S25-64-C04M-PNVB
RiDATA Ultra-S Plus 2.5" 64GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) NSSD-S25-64-C04M-PNVB

Pros: very fast very quiet comparatively cheap Really everything they say about solid states + a great price.

Cons: Got a new computer about a month ago with this and a 1TB drive as well. Shipped with the SSD as the boot drive. The RiDATA 64GB died after about 3 weeks, so I had to reinstall my OS on a new drive. Got a replacement under the company's warranty, so hopefully the new one will be better (but certainly won't be putting my OS on it).

Overall Review: It was amazing while it lasted, but you probably shouldn't use it as your boot drive. Better left for gaming unless you enjoy reinstalling your OS.

Pretty Neat, but not extremely accurate

Pros: If you speak fairly slowly and properly articulate and don't take many pauses, this works pretty well. The program learns over time to recognize your voice and speech patterns, so supposedly in a few months the program will work better. Overall I'm happy with this, as the errors it makes while I use it are (usually) easy enough to figure out what I meant when looking them over. I'm writing my dissertation and use it to take notes from books while reading, which saves a LOT of time.

Cons: The software is very finicky. The mic needs to e JUST the right distance from your mouth and background noises do cause issues, so if you like to listen to music or whatever while reading/writing, you'll likely need to use headphones. At this point, there are a LOT of errors, some of which are totally different from what I was saying. Also, since I am often working with foreign language texts, I end up needing to translate lines/ideas back into English, as it comes up with some pretty fantastic (and often amusing) ideas of what German words sound like in English (to the program's credit, it always attempts to come up with SOMETHING). The correction of errors (when you notice the program comes up with something crazy) is not that simple either. There are voice commands to fix errors or delete what you last said, but often the choices listed are not what you meant to say, so you end up needing to either type in what you meant or spell it letter by letter, which gets pretty tedious.

Overall Review: Hopefully the program learns my speech patterns better over time (it has gotten a BIT better), and I'm sure as I get a better at understanding the program things will improve as well. I'm giving it 4 stars, because it is a pretty incredible program that, even with some serious problems at this point, has saved me hours of productivity and likely save me 100s by the time I've finished my diss.
