Pros: This is an update to an earlier review. The unit I bought in May was defective so I returned it but seeing it now for $99 I couldn't resist giving it another shot. This is the best deal on New Egg imo. It really has great sound. Even though I have a nice Cerwin-Vega 5.1 speaker system I was curious to see how the air extreme surround was so I hooked it up to just 2 front speakers and a sub. This thing has the best surround simulation of any receiver I have heard. I have tried all the sound bars and none of them give a decent surround simulation. But the air extreme really does a good job. There are times i think i am hearing sound from my left and right. Granted it's not as good as 5.1 surround but it is thie next best thing. I'm now back to 5.1 and this thing really rocks. I don't care what any specs out there say, it sounds great to my ears. Also using the IR flashers works pretty well.

Cons: I wish the remote has stronger IR emitters. I most likely will go back to a universal remote and unhook the flasher because it's just easier. Learning codes on the receiver does work, however it won't learn any repeating coded such as the left and right for a roku or any guide. What this means is I have to browse movies or the guide one by one which is a pain. Also it won't turn on or off my DVD player or DVR when changing activities. It turns the TV off an on just fine but i thought if i went from watching my DVR to my DVD that it would turn these off and on but no luck. Anyone know?

Overall Review: This is the steal of the year in my opinion. Good quality throughout. Just have some good speakers with 6ohms or better. I rarely go above 50 and it's plenty loud with no distortion.

Pros: Auto-on off works well as does the amp.

Cons: Speaker itself is cheap. Lasted 18 months

Overall Review: Only a 1 year warranty. Speaker cone itself started rattling after 18 months.It would stop if I put my hand on the rubber part of the speaker. Basically the speaker is shot. Was $79 when i bought it. Glad i didnt pay a penny more.

Pros: IPS screen. Build quality. Fast enough for basics.

Cons: Battery life not 10 hours as stated. Refurbished by 3rd party vendor. Not shipped with original power cord.

Overall Review: This is a great little laptop. I actually love the laptop. IPS screen is very vivid, colors are beautiful. Runs fast enough for me. Buying it new I would give it 4 stars and I would only knock a star off because i can only get maybe 7 hours max out of the battery, not 10 as advertised. But beware. Even though this is listed as being sold and shipped from Newegg, it is actually shipped from a third party refurbishing vendor in Texas. I was disappointed when I received it because in the box is the laptop in bubble wrap and a white power cord that is not the original, but some cheap chinese knockoff. The power cord did not plug in snugly and I wouldn't trust it to last 3 months. I know for a fact that the original is black. Also if I lifted the laptop up from the corner with one hand I could feel that the chassis isn't sturdy as if it's been opened and worked on. Not a new feeling at all as the other reviewer stated. Maybe I just got a lemon but I am returning it and hope i get a better replacement. If I had to do it over I would just buy new. That being said, I have a refurbished Acer Chromebook 14 that I've had for a year and a half and I've never had a problem with it. Apple refurbs are great. With Acer, you are taking chances.

Pros: Great OTA Tuner...easy install for Win7

Overall Review: First off I only needed an OTA ATSC tuner. Found the Win 7 drivers on their site and Win 7 installed them easily. Set up the tuner in Windows Media player and it set up easily. Works fine. Records fine, excellent HD quality so I can't complain. Minimum specs say 2.2 ghz but i am running 1.6 atom and it works flawlessly. I never tried the antenna or the included software so can't speak for that but i wouldn't expect much from either. But if you have your own antenna and you plan on using it for WMC then by all means, get it!!! I'm thinking of buying another one so i have dual tuners which WMC finds and uses easily. Don't know if my 1.6 atom processor will be able to handle that or not.
