Pros: This is a stellar machine. I was using a Toshiba for the last few years and was hesitant to switch to a different brand but needed a much higher end laptop for college. I don't game but this Laptop runs all the programs I use (inventor, Rivet, Auto cad etc.) with no lag at all. lots of storage and the already installed 16gb is a nice bonus. Compared to other laptops at this price it blows everything out of the water.
Cons: the cons are all aesthetic. I do not like the key board layout. The Toshiba laptops I have had were more spread out and offered a small space between the f buttons and directional buttons. I much prefer that layout as opposed to this one. I also do not care for the lack of a manual audio adjustment control on this model. It is controlled with the hot keys that come pre-installed but a dedicated switch would have been nice. As these are personal preferences I would not dock the score and would have given it a 5 egg review, the touch pad however is horrible.
Thankfully you can turn the touch pad off by the touch of a button. When typing my palm will briefly apply pressure to the pad and the cursor reacts on the screen. When typing this is very very annoying. The response of the pad is very sporadic, sometimes it goes where you want it to, and others it goes all over the place. There is no dual finger scroll, and the rightmost pad scroll does not work at all, the page merely jumps.
Other Thoughts: As the other review stated i would very much appreciate a driver to address the touch pad issue. If that is issued and corrects all the problems that the touch pad has i would raise the review. I purchased the laptop to use for drafting and will be utilizing a mouse for the majority of my time with this, if you will be using a mouse as well this is a great deal and a great machine. If you utilize the touch pad for most of your computing, i would strongly suggest evaluating other machines.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Elitescreens 94" 16:10 94" Manual Projection Screen M94UWX
Pros: This screen was fine and did exactly what you expect a manual screen to do. Pull down easily when you need to use it, and lock when you had it at the desired height. It quickly released and rolled back up when done with a simple tug.
Cons: The customer service and manufacturing of this product however make it a massive waste of money. after approx 6 months of use a loud pop was heard and the screen unrolled and could not be rolled back into the housing. It was clear that something had broken or the spring had lost tension. After numerous emails with customer support they kept advising me to simply re-tension the screen. many attempts at this failed, and the customer service merely advised me to keep attempting to re-tension the spring. After 2 months of frustration i removed the spring from the housing to find that the aluminum rod they have to hold the spring at the desired length had blown out from the torque the spring placed on it. After taking many pictures and sending numerous emails and phone calls i have still not received a replacement part or screen, i am now left with a pile of parts that cost me well over 100 dollars.
Other Thoughts: Do not purchase this screen as it is subpar material and a complete lack of customer serviceREAD FULL REVIEW
