Great For Mass Storage Only ....

WD Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
WD Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Great for mass storage, retrieving, and backing up your music and movie files.

Cons: It's write speed is no different than your SATA 150 drives. Unless you take advantage of those high-speed SATA SDDs. Make sure your case is properly ventilated and cooled. The drive's temperature does reach up to 97F. Even under idle conditions at normal room temperatures. During heavy writing conditions, it can reach up to 115F or more.

Overall Review: It is not recommended to RAID these drives. They are not the RE3 or RE4 (RAID Edition 3 & 4) versions. The ARRAY will be compromised according to Western Digital.

UNREGRETTABLE ! !

Crucial M4 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CT128M4SSD2
Crucial M4 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CT128M4SSD2

Pros: Even on an old laptop equipped with SATA-II (and 8GB of DDR2), Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit installs in 15 mins. And will load up within eleven seconds, immediately right after the POST. You will also notice speed improvements via your other application installs and loads. Firefox 11 & VISIO 2010 opens in 1 second. But please note: Marvell is about to release their 3rd generation SSD chip, so expect the M5 soon.

Cons: Until SSD's go mainstream, high prices will still deter many users from switching to this format. Crucial does not spare any expense for desktop users; need to get your own SATA cable and brackets. For permanent storage, it's still safer with HDDs; I'm using the M4 as my OS and apps drive only.

Overall Review: Make sure you upgrade the firmware to version 0309, before installing any operating system. This supposedly fixes the performance issues related to the dreaded BSOD, during prolong heavy writing. And make sure TRIM is enabled, after the installation (Windows 7). And turn off the scheduled auto-defragging feature.

IT OPERATES FLAWLESSLY :o}

PC Power & Cooling ModXStream Pro Series 700 Watt 80+ Semi-Modular Active PFC Performance Grade ATX PC Power Supply (OCZ700MXSP)
PC Power & Cooling ModXStream Pro Series 700 Watt 80+ Semi-Modular Active PFC Performance Grade ATX PC Power Supply (OCZ700MXSP)

Pros: The product's packaging was superb; and you get a useful little black zipper-bag. Cables were all nicely and neatly sleeved. The power supply worked flawlessly, whisper quiet operations, does the job, and I haven't had any issues yet.

Cons: It's extremely light weight; considering it's a 700Watt Class PSU with an 82% efficiency rating. I'm a little bit skeptical about the quality and thee amount of components used in the making of this PSU. When you look through it's vent holes, you're not going to see alot of components inside the chassis's PCB. Definitely not much capacitors nor heatsinks either. This explains the low cost of the product (and it's promotion discount & rebate offer).

Overall Review: Identical class PSU's from Enermax & Antec are much more heavier, and have way more components built into their products. But anyhow, this OCZ700MXSP is powering an Exchange 2010 Server, with 16GBs of DDR3-1333, one hex-core CPU, and 2 mirrored WD R3's.

Excellent for mass storage

Western Digital Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
Western Digital Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Another great product from WD. It works accordingly, and makes a great backup drive (literally speaking) for all your MP3s and Divx downloads.

Cons: Due to it's traditional mechanical read & write methods, do not expect anything close to SSD SATA-III performance. Beware, this hard drive (like all Black Models) will get extremely hot during heavy writing. Make sure your case is well cooled and ventilated. It's capable of reaching 127F during heavy writing; in a poorly ventilated room that is.

Overall Review: No difference in write speed; and about thee same when compared with SATA-I 1.5Gb Spec. hard drives.

It works, but it does get very hot ! !

Controller, Panel
Controller, Panel

Pros: It works accordingly, and thee installation was a breeze. Capable of running my x3 Scythe SY1225SL12SH 120mm "Slipstream" Case Fans (12Volts x .53Amps) at maximum 1900 RPMs w/ 110 CFM .... simultaneously, that is.

Cons: Thee x3 resistors on the little PCB will get extremely hot, if your case is not properly ventilated or cooled. Or if you place the little PCB near components that generate a lot of heat. Or running multiple fans with high-Amps. Unfortunately, the PCB is not equipped with heatsinks like other brands.

Overall Review: My x3 Scythe fans generate 6.36Watts each (at full load). Use caution if you're implementing fans with more than .59Amps of current.

Great Price & Overclocking

AMD Sempron 64 3000+ - Sempron 64 Manila Single-Core 1.6 GHz Socket AM2 Processor - SDA3000CNBOX
AMD Sempron 64 3000+ - Sempron 64 Manila Single-Core 1.6 GHz Socket AM2 Processor - SDA3000CNBOX

Pros: This processor can easily be overclocked to 2.2Ghz with the default/stock voltage settings. Simply change the bus speed to 275Mhz, and times the x8 multiplier. It operates flawlessly under this setting, and runs fairly cool on the stock heatsink. You will surely get your money's worth. Highly recommended for budget DIY workstations & servers.

Cons: None, but you will definitely get your money's worth.

Overall Review: Currently running Windows Server 2003 R2, and Exchange 2003 with this processor via my SoHo.
