ASUS RT-N66U Dual-Band Wireless-N900 Gigabit Router, DD-WRT Open Source support, IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n, IEEE 802.3/3u/3ab

Pros: The product is fairly reliable. The first router went out on the last day of warranty. After a week of try I was finally able to contact Asus who did repair it.

Cons: Asus tech support has become absolutely one of the worse in the industry. This time after 10 day of trying to reach them on line and by phone (network down and phone constantly busy). I did finally reach them today in online chat. I was disconnected 3 times after they logged on when they no longer cared to respond. The other attempt did reach someone who was somewhat Knowlegable but who had me reset both the computer and router and of course I could not get him back. So in reality 4 disconnects.

Other Thoughts: I have purchased thousands of dollars of motherboards, monitors, routers and wireless adapters from Asus and never given them a bad review. But lately I would not recommend that anyone buy a single product from them. I ran 6 networks and 500 computers and I am very familiar what good support is like. THIS IS NOT IT!!!

Pros: Works reasonably well and performs as expected except for the wireless connection. But because of the way it and other companies laptops are advertised as being wireless N ready I would advise everyone to check and see what wireless N compatible really means. Look at the comment below.

Cons: I was extremely disappointed to find out that wireless bgn not mean that you can connect to w wireless N 5gz router, you can only connect to a 2.4gz router. Wireless N means to most people that you can connect to a 5gz router. After 3 calls to Toshiba and a lot of time I was basically told that my wirless N router from Asus a addition$160 was a wasted investment. If you want to connect to a 5gz router your adapter must be AGN not BGN. This should be made clear in the specs somewhere. This is my first bad review of a Newegg product and I have bought a lot of them.

Other Thoughts: There should be somewhere a place that tells the difference in what to look for in a wireless adapter if you would like to connect to a 5gz router and take advantage of the additional download speed. I have learned a valuable lesson in how wireless products are advertised.

3 out of 5 eggs Yamah YHT-395BL 07/15/2011

This review is from: YAMAHA YHT-395BL 5.1 Channel Home Theater in a Box Systerm

Pros: Well designed overall, speakers workded well. It has quite a few different connections on the back for adding additional devices.

Cons: Would not pick up any FM stations, without the externally antennea being connected. It failed to pick up any AM stations with or with out a exteranl antenna, even tho I am located at a very good location for reception of both AM and FM signals with nothing to block either.

Other Thoughts: I will give another review upon the receipt of the replacement for this system.
