This review is from: OCZ Vector Series 2.5" 256GB SATA III MLC VTR1-25SAT3-256G
Pros: Has fairly nice stats on paper and it does deliver on those stats. It has some great IOPS and it really is a fast drive. I love this drives speeds.....when it works.
Cons: I can say that I am currently waiting for what will now be my third drive. I have had to RMA this product two times. Their RMA service has been good about replacing the product. The product itself just isn't stable for me. I sent the first one in for RMA after 8 months of use, and later sent the second one in for RMA after 5 months of use. For me it just hasn't been reliable and that is my experience with this drive. Both of my RMA's have happened in under a year.
Other Thoughts: If someone was looking to buy this product, I would likely mention my experience with them in under a year. Which seems like very little time, but given that I am now waiting on the return of yet another RMA, which will be my 3rd Drive in under a year due to failures, I would likely point them away from this drive. While it has nice looking speeds and stats on it's specifications and quite honestly is truthful about those speeds. It is not worth sending in in every 5 to 8 months to get replaced. It literally just goes straight unrecognizable in the BIOS. My brother is an well respected IT in the area and I'm not to shabby myself and when we went through troubleshooting this drive, we were unable to get it recognized in any bios after power cycling the SSD for 24 hours (usually only takes 1 hour), therefore since it was unrecognized, we were unable to re-flash the firmware or perform a secure erase to reset the drive at the controller level. The drive was completely dead and we had no option of reformatting the drive or anything.READ FULL REVIEW
