Average mouse, above average customer service
Pros: -not the most expensive gaming mouse -good quality braided cable, gold-plated connector -the forward button on the thumb-side of the mouse is textured, making it easily distinguishable from the back button -8 2.4g weights included -very good customer service
Cons: -not the cheapest gaming mouse -no software -I have small hands, and I would still call this a small mouse. I can imagine this mouse being way too tiny for someone with larger hands -DPI switch only cycles, meaning you have to click twice to go "down" a DPI setting -all weights are the same weight, meaning you can essentially only make it lighter unless you buy more, heavier weights
Overall Review: I wrote a previous review with one less egg noting how the mouse had reviewed with one of the lights DOA. I remarked how the cost of RMA'ing it just didn't justify doing it, especially since it was 1/4 of the cost. My comments on the mouse from the last review still stand: it's an overall average entry level gaming mouse; I chose it primarily for its design and lighting. The textured 'forward' button on the lefthand side is great. But for this cost, you could really shop around and find something that suits you - maybe that's this mouse, ultimately. That said, I am submitting another review with an increased score for the great customer service I received from Rosewill. They replied to my previous review and asked me to contact their support. Having poor experiences with support in the past, I was not very hopeful but something told me to give it a go anyway. After a responsive correspondence via email, I as asked for my Newegg invoice for the mouse, and a picture clearly depicting the problem with the mouse. It was as simple as that, and the picture showed the problem clear enough. Rosewill shipped me a new mouse free of charge. It is very uncommon, in my opinion, to have such wonderful customer support from a manufacturer. I am very satisfied. Rosewill clearly cares about its customers.
Does what it's supposed to
Pros: -it works
Cons: -none thus far
Overall Review: This adapter does exactly what it is supposed to. It was well packaged and seems to be made of good quality cable.
Can't beat this price
Pros: -eight cores -among the top CPUs in terms of benchmark performance -very hard to beat this performance-to-price ratio -fantastic CPU for multitasking
Cons: -really have not run into any, nor do I expect to
Overall Review: I have only maxed out this CPU one way so far. Not even rendering a 1080p video capped it out. Instead, it was Football Manager 2014 on ALL competitions set to full simulation. That was funny to watch. It could handle it, just slowly. If you're looking to overclock or really intense activities, you will probably want to look into replacing the stock fan. I have not had any problems with the stock fan, and under load it runs about 45 degrees which is perfectly safe. I do not overclock my CPU, though.
Steal if on sale
Pros: -comfortable -detachable mic -cord is not too long, not too short -in line volume/mic control is always a pro, easy to reach -great sound quality, all things considered
Cons: -mic isn't the best quality, and for full price ($50) you really should be getting a better mic; it picks up more background noise than it should, but my friends don't complain about it. It's more noticeable when recording your voice. Short version of that: not the best headset for LPs or broadcasting live.
Overall Review: I bought this on sale and I don't regret it one bit. The sound quality is great for the price I paid, and I'm really satisfied with the quality of the ear cushions. They encompass my entire ear without hurting. For full price, though, I am not sure I can justify the overall quality of the headset when, for $50, you have much more competition in the marketplace.
Great value
Pros: Very, very fast write/read Windows boot (including bios POST) in under ten seconds Great for OS installations Slim, sleek, and very small Quiet, as it has no actual disc like a traditional hdd
Cons: 120 GBs gets eaten up very fast in this day and age More expensive than traditional HDDs
Overall Review: Solid state drives are infamously faster than traditional hard drives because they do not have a disc to search when you tell it to do something. This honestly does result in incredible speed boosts, such as less than ten second OS boots. Note that this drive is 2.5", NOT a 3.5" like your traditional hard drive likely is. Unless your case is fairly modern, you likely DO NOT have a spot to properly mount this drive. They do sell adapters. However, do check your case for four mounting screw holes, likely on the bottom under the 3.5" bays.
So glad I went with 7 instead of 8
Pros: Sleek Stable Fast Intuitive
Cons: Upgrading for long-time XP users can take some getting used to
Overall Review: Windows 8 is a bit more stable than Windows 7. From a technical standpoint, it's hard to deny that. However the increased performance is so slight than it's impossible to overlook the glaring design changes which can make Windows 8 difficult to navigate. Particularly for gamers, I highly recommend sticking with Windows 7 and steering clear of 8.
