XFX Radeon R9 270X DirectX 11.2 R9-270X-CDBC 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: Good looking card. Great upgrade from my GTX 260. Good output selection.

Cons: 1) This card runs super hot. With fans at 100% the GPU still runs at ~90C under full load. (No I'm not OC'ing) -1 egg
2)This is more of a gripe with AMD I guess. The Catalyst driver for linux is bad and won't install correctly. Trying to get it installed on Debian and have had nothing but problems, so I have to run an older driver from the repo not meant for this card. (-0 eggs not the cards fault)

Cooler Master SickleFlow 120 - Sleeve Bearing 120mm Blue LED Silent Fan for Computer Cases, CPU Coolers, and Radiators

  • neweggOwned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: Fan is quiet and moves a good amount of air. The fan isn't completely clear, so I didn't know how the LED's were going to look, but it looks nice. I would venture to say that I now prefer this to completely clear fans. It also comes with an adapter so you can power with molex.

Cons: none so far

Rosewill R379-M - Black & Silver, 0.8mm SGCC Steel Slim Micro ATX Computer Case with ATX12V Flex 300W Power Supply
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Nice case, small, looks nice in my tv console. Works well for housing my HTPC. I like how the HD/DVD drive cage comes out. There are little metal "clamps" in the case that can be used for cable management.

Cons: None really. Would have like the HD cage have support for a ssd drive, but I didnt expect it to.

Other Thoughts: I took the HD cage out of the case because I'm using a SSD drive and no DVD drive. It's basically a head for my media server.
