CPU & Memory Benchmarks UP
Pros: Does what they say. I get 1864MHz CL11 PnP 1.28v. Passmark memory score went from 2301 with the OEM Samsung 1600 CL11 to 2508, CPU score went up from 8703 to 9081. So they help and function. HP ENVY 15t-j000 I7-4700mq HM87. No problems.
Cons: PRICE
Overall Review: Tried the 2133 but ran at 1866, so don't waste your time and money getting the 2133 unless you have setting in your bios you can set.
Low Benchmak score
Pros: It functions. It could be nice maybe with the addition of a Cache Drive.
Cons: Slow next to the 2nd Gen. They should of kept it at 7200 rpm and added more SSD and or higher density hard drive platters.
Overall Review: Had the 750 momentus xt 7200rpm in my HP DV6t-7000 Quad Edition and it was much faster. Now I have this new 5400rpm in My HP ENVY 15t-j000 Quad Edition and you can really feel that it is SLOW next to the 2nd Gen. So if you need large storage and faster speed get a 7200rpm and add a 64GB mSSD cache.
Nice Cache Drive for IRST
Pros: Easy to install in my HP ENVY 15t-j000 Quad Edition for a Cache Drive. Functions Fast when running benchmark. It does get around 500 read and write when used as a Cache in IRST.
Cons: Does not come with small screw. You must order Laptop / notebook screw kit to install in mSATA slot. I wish Samsung would supply it. Can not use RAPID mode or the Samsung Magician for a cache drive. You are limited to use 64gb for the Cache. I am using the max as a cache.
Overall Review: I am Shure if you wait a little it well go down in price as the 2.5" EVO has done. If you have a fast system with a slow HD then you are bottlenecked at your HD. This would fix the Bottleneck so you would have a fast system.
Read before Ordering
Pros: Ran at 1.28v.
Cons: This memory only ran at 1866 CL11 in my HP ENVY 15t-j000 Quad Edition with 4th Gen i7-4700mq and HM87. It did not plug and play at the 2133. The memory most likely well not run at 2133 so you are wasting you money. So buy the 1866 CL11 and save a little money. I have read that 1866 is a sweet spot for memory and anything faster is a waste. I have returned this memory because it did not function at the speed listed for the 4th Gen intel (i) series processor. I have reordered the 1866 CL11. I have Kingston HyperX 1866 PnP that I used in my 3rd gen i7-3610qm with HM77 that functioned at 1866 1.5v, so I tried them in my i7-4700mq and they ran at 1866 1.5v. The 3rd Gen i7-3610qm uses ddr3 and ddr3L, the 4th Gen uses ddr3L memory. The Kingston ran hot and the fan was running fast.
Overall Review: If you have a bios that has settings for memory, then you may be able to run this memory at 2133.
Great Performance Benchmarks
Pros: Fast, easy to clone and install, Great benchmarks, plenty of storage space for my use, RAPID mode is great. Samsung magician Benchmarks of 1185 Read Mb/s and 898 Write Mb/s. PassMark Disk Mark score of 27,778.
Cons: Not con but in real life it does not seem to be faster then the 840 120gb that I took out. Starting seems super fast but the regular 840 I had in started just as fast (super fast) so fast that the windows LOGO did not even finish loading. Do not DOWN GRADE to WINDOWS 8, it is a HUGE DISAPOINTMENT, had it one day and took it off the next.
Overall Review: My system: ASRock Z77 Pro4, I5-3570K, 8GB (2x4 Crucial LT4G3D1869DT1TX0, Windows 7 Pro 64.
Quiet and Super fast for a HDD
Pros: Getting about 195 read and 183 write. Passmark of score of 1180.
Cons: First one would disk copy or load, sent back to WD RMA. They did have the drive so the sent the Black that is much slower Passmark 970. The Black was sent Back they sent was a RECERTIFIED DRIVE NOT NEW. Tested it and it came up with too many bad sectors. Sent it back RMA for a New Blue WD10ezex. The Blue is one of the fastest none ssd drives. The black made a lot noise. The blue is quiet.
Overall Review: Get the blue, much faster and quieter than the Black. Did not return back to Newegg because of the poor return policy.
