ASUS RT-N10+ IEEE Wireless Router EZ N 802.11b/g/n Support up to 4 SSID in Business (Open source DDWRT support)
  • Verified Owner

Pros: Router has good stability and supports DD-wrt. Descent router for the money.

Cons: DD-wrt is supported as long as you don't mind limited features. You can not run any pptp or OpenVPN on this router.

Other Thoughts: Bought this router to run VPN on and it just doesn't have the memory to run VPN.

Pros: Drive is fast and increases Windows load times dramatically. Quiet and power efficient.

Cons: First off the included software to clone your drive is not compatible with windows 8 so if you have windows 8 you will need to purchase cloning software. Secondly write/read speeds are capped at 400 mb/s. I cant tell you if firmware update will help since I cant update the firmware because I am once again running windows 8.

Other Thoughts: ADATA customer support was not very helpful. I basically got the were sorry we don't support windows 8. They did say that they MAY have support in Jan 2013 but no promises. I had to knock off 2 eggs for poor support and slower than advertised write speeds.

Microsoft Windows 8 Professional Upgrade

2 out of 5 eggs Where is my start menu? 11/30/2012

This review is from: Microsoft Windows 8 Professional Upgrade

Pros: Windows 8 installation and load times are great. Works good on my computer, and seems just as fast as windows 7.

Cons: No real speed increases from Windows 7. Many programs required MS Framework 3.5 and 4.5 comes incorporated with Windows 8, but it isn't backwards compatible. Took me a few hours to get this straightened out. Start menu is really funky and closing programs is a pain since everything opens in full screen with no minimize or X to close down. This OS is designed to work on a tablet or touchscreen not a desktop. Windows 7 is better for desktop use at this time.
