Acer 15.6

Pros: Excellent size. Terrific Power to Weight ratio (personal scale). 3 x USB 3.0. Switched out OS to Win 7 from Win 8.1 because primary software use is non-WIN8 compatible at this time. No problems with downgrading to Win 7 PRO.

Cons: Slow HDD. No CD/DVD.

Other Thoughts: Overall this is another good Acer system. Have bought 4 Acer Laptops over the past 3 years. All have been good system at a great price. Only problem has been HDD being a little slow but otherwise, PERFECT for most power users.

Pros: Fast Responsive 10-point touch full 1080p HD. Tons of screen real estate. Excellent monitors

Cons: Sound speakers are a little muffled, but I have yet to find a monitor with built in speakers that were of any good quality.

Other Thoughts: Purchased 3 of these on sale with a free printer thrown in. Printers were OK not top of the line, but for the sale price alone, these monitors are well worth every cent.

Acer 17.3

Pros: This is a great laptop for almost anything you could want to do. 12gb of RAM is enough for multi-tasking memory intensive programs. The combined 120gb SSD with 1TB HDD gives speed for OS load (12s) while giving the user tons of storage space. Memory can easily be upgraded to 16gb with 1 chip, 24gb with 2x8gb chips (using 2x4gb of existing chips) or to 32gb using 4x8gb chips (all new).

Screen size is good. Keyboard is reactive with low-profile keys.

Graphics through the GeForce GTX 760M are good. Can keep up with most high-density graphic intensive programs.

2x USB 3.0 and 2x USB 2.0 with Blue-Ray/DVD HDMI RJ45 SD Card slot and headphone/microphone connectors.

1 USB port has Power-Off Charging built-in.

Cons: Keybooard keys are slightly far apart. Touchpad is too sensitive, I deactivate it and use a mouse. Graphic card is good but not great. Averages around 25-35 fps in World of Tanks and some other games. Most games 35-60fps.

Other Thoughts: For the price this is a great Laptop. 2 hard drive bays with 4 memory slots for expansions and mix and match. I have traveled quite a bit with this laptop and it is a little cumbersome even in a large Laptop backpack but is a great replacement for a desktop especially when travelling. I use it for Digital Forensic investigations and have never had any problems or needed more speed. Works great, runs lots of concurrent tasks, with Virtual Machines runs all of the required OSes without pause.

I love it. Got one from my wife and one for my son and they both use theirs as much as I use mine.
