5 out of 5 eggs Better than LED 08/21/2013

This review is from: LG 60" Class 1080p 600Hz Plasma TV – 60PN6500

Pros: I found the LG Plasma at a local store for $750+tax and I was definitely leery. For one I had never owned a plasma and two I spent more than twice as much on the Samsung and got a stinker. Well, it didn't take long to realize I had made the right decision. After getting it home and setting it up, I couldn't believe how great it looked hanging on my wall. Then I turned it on, what an amazing picture! Deep blacks, amazing color, and absolutely no motion blur. The complete package and only $750, wow!

Cons: Sound is a little up and down, can't hear talking in movies and then the action scenes are ridiculously loud. Can't say I have spent too much time in tweaking the sound though. May just be settings.

Other Thoughts: This is my fourth flat screen tv. The other three have been Samsung, one LCD and two LED. I spent two years working in Europe and when I came back to the states last summer, I wanted a sixty inch LED. I settled for a 55 inch Samsung LED and while the picture looked ok in slow moving brighter scenes, the black levels and motion blur were awful. I tried every calibration an picture setting I could over the course of five months . I finally decided to move the Samsung into the basement for the kids to game on and watch movies. The LG Plasma is far better than any HDTV I have watched, especially considering the price. Even at 60 inches the picture is sharp, black levels deep, an absolutely no motion blur. Great buy, certainly reccomended.
