Pros: Refurbished model cost almost 50% of new model.
WAN / LAN / Wifi throughput is excellent.
WRT Merlin support is excellent
Seems very stable so far
Cons: Comes with minimum accessories
Other Thoughts: Running 2 weeks in a secondary network with Security Camera and NAS using WIFI / LAN constantly without issue. I have purchased 3 of these refurbished models (myself, mother, and neighbor) and all have been reliable so far.
Refurbished items can be risky. Its the luck of the draw. I just purchased 2 refurbished Asus RT-AC68P and both had issues.
Pros: Good Price and Specs
Cons: Does not power on.
Other Thoughts: I have a RT-AC68U and RT-AC66U. Both are perfect using WRT Merlin. The WIFI and WAN speeds are excellent. I had hoped that RT-AC68P would have similar to better performance. Unfortunately, it doesn't even power on.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Allows for the reuse of older drives as a backup unit (WD 3TB 6Mbps Green). eSata transfer rate is very fast at 120MB/S (sustained for 2TB). USB3 transfer is very good at 86MB/S (sustained for 1TB). Front buttons allow switching of interface from eSata to USB3, Fan speed, and Sync (Sleep Mode). Small unobtrusive little box that is very quiet on fan mode 3. Inexpensive for a 4 drive chassis. Comes with USB3 and eSata cable.
Cons: Drive front panel opens at a mere touch. It needs to be redesigned with a key and latch. Not much to dislike.
Other Thoughts: Excellent construction and design (with the exception of the face plate) for the price. The drives were removed from my main PC's 4x3.5" backplane (iStarUSA BPN-DE340SS). This device will act as secondary backup for my NetGear 6x3.5" NAS. Hope it lasts for a couple of years.READ FULL REVIEW
