NETGEAR WNDR3700-100NAS V.5 Wireless Gigabit Open Source Router/ USB port Rangemax 2.4/5 GHz Simultaneous N600 Dual Band IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n, IEEE 802.3/3u/3ab

Pros: Doesn't hang up under heavy load like the aging router it replaces. Does what routers do.

Cons: Not as plug and play as I would like. HP wireless printer, when connected wirelessly, results in a drop of all internet access. Tried for about a day or so playing around with the dns and ip settings on both the printer and router with no luck. Not much of a big deal since my new home setup no longer required the printer to be hooked up wirelessly, so I just hooked it up to a pc and, as expected, everything was fine.

Other Thoughts: I am using the default operating system on this router and have not tried any of the alternatives.

Pros: Cheap
