5 out of 5 eggs Great Single Video Card Board 01/21/2014

This review is from: MSI 970A-G43 AM3+ AMD 970 + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Not sure what all the temperature complaints are about. I use HWMonitor to log my temps and they are relatively cool even after hours of gaming. I will give you idle to peak temps in celcius:
CPU FX 4300 - 4 to 46
Vid Card HD 7790 - 29 to 56
MoBo MSI 970A-G43 - 34 to 57

Cons: This board is really only meant for a single video card build since 2nd PCI-E is only 4X. Not really a con since that is what I bought this board for.

Other Thoughts: With below build, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 boot time is less than 10 seconds.

My New Build Cost ($535):
FX-4300 ($90 w Promo Code)
MSI 970A-G43 ($70)
Asus HD 7790 1GB ($110 with Rebate)
Kingston V300 120GB SSD ($80)
GSkill Sniper DDR3 1866 2x4GB ($86)
Corsair CX500M ($40 with Rebate)
Asus Optical Burner ($16)
Rosewill USB WiFi Adapter ($13)
Rosewill Case FB-04 ($30)

AMD FX-4300 Vishera Quad-Core 3.8GHz (4.0GHz) Socket AM3+ 95W FD4300WMHKBOX Desktop Processor

Pros: Like the title states, you pay $90 and will get a 7.3 rating in Windows Experience Index at stock. With arctic silver and an old heatsink/fan from a Phenom chip, it idles at 6 degrees celcius. When gaming, it never passes 32 degrees celcius. All temps are monitored by HWMonitor.

Cons: The heatsink/fan it comes with seems anemic so I used an old Phenom heatsink/fan.

Other Thoughts: If you do some CPU benchmarking research, you will see that performance gain for gaming after 4 cores are very minimal so I didn't bite the bullet on a 6 core or 8 core. I was also power concious as this is a 95W chip. Boot time for Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit is less than 5 seconds with following setup.
