Moves alot of air, but louder than expected

Rosewill ROCF-11003 - 140mm Computer Case Cooling Fan - Hydro Dynamic Bearing, Silent, 2 Rotation Speeds with PWM Control
Rosewill ROCF-11003 - 140mm Computer Case Cooling Fan - Hydro Dynamic Bearing, Silent, 2 Rotation Speeds with PWM Control

Pros: I installed a few of these into a Rosewill Blackhawk case with a NZXT fan controller. They move alot of air and keep all of the components quite cool. I love the rubber mountings that came with the fans

Cons: They are louder than I expected.

Overall Review: I am still working on getting an optimal fan speed set for these, so they may work better at lower speeds. Note that the rubber mountings make it a little difficult to work with in tight spaces. I had to use needle nose pliers to pull the mounting through the holes

Nice pIcture, has issues

Acer KA272U biipx UM.HX2AA.004 27" QHD 2560 x 1440 (2K) 1ms VRB 75 Hz 2 x HDMI, DisplayPort AMD RADEON FreeSync Technology Gaming Monitor

Pros: - Bought this because the price was right for a IPS 75hz display - Display is bright and colorful - small bezel is nice - VESA mount is nice at this price

Cons: ISSUE: Monitors sometimes dont turn back on: - I have a similar issue as others have reported - monitors dont come back up properly from sleep - monitors dont come back up from being turned off via power settings (instead of a full sleep mode) - buttons on monitor dont work to bring the monitor back - The issue is intermittent and doesnt happen every time

Overall Review: - I bought two of these for my primary display - Has same issue as reported by others (see cons) - stands aren't great, but adequate considering price - need to do "creative" work-arounds for power issue to prevent being too annoying (all black screensaver, never power off monitors, or switch on power to monitors to allow quick power cycle)

Great case

Rosewill Gaming Computer Case - ATX Mid Tower - Top HDD Dock, Side Window Panel, 5 Preinstalled Fans - BLACKHAWK
Rosewill Gaming Computer Case - ATX Mid Tower - Top HDD Dock, Side Window Panel, 5 Preinstalled Fans - BLACKHAWK

Pros: I love this case. It is roomy, and has alot of the features of cases that cost twice as much. This is my first "full build" so it is also good for the hardware noob. I love the mesh look throughout the case, and the black interior was a bonus for me as well. The thumb screws make it easy to adjust the case as needed. As this case was going in the bedroom, i removed the LED fans and replaced with other non-LED 12 and 14 cm fans. This was easy to do, though the front fans were a little more difficult because the space is limited up front. I may add them back at a later point, but I am confident swapping them out will be painless.

Cons: The manual is almost as good as it needs to be. I would have preferred more on the connectors the front I/O panel uses. I had to all but jam the side panel on because of the wires hidden away behind the mobo. This is a minor point, since the case provides the hideaways for your wiring runs to begin with.

Overall Review: I might of missed it, but I never saw anywhere that explicitly said the USB 3 connector was for a 20 pin header on the Mobo. I looked at several videos of people putting builds together with this case, and in each one it looks like they were passing the blue USB cable out the back to connect to the rear USB 3 ports. Even the manual listing shows what looks like a standard USB connector in the list of connections. This is probably a pretty noobish mistake, but just wanted to put it out there that you DEFINITELY need an internal USB 3.0 20 pin header on the mobo or an add-on card to provide this functionality.

Good Price

EVGA SuperClocked 01G-P3-1567-RX GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card
EVGA SuperClocked 01G-P3-1567-RX GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Pros: Use this card in an Ubuntu install. It works well with the proprietary drivers and Wine for any game that wine can handle. I have it sitting in a Rosewill Blackhawk case with plenty of fans and it occasionally flirts with 60 C under load, but then the fans kick in and the temps drop. So far has been quite solid. I was a little nervous buying a refurbished card, but this one performs like a champ.

Cons: No Cons so far...

Great for DD-WRT

D-Link DKT-408 Wireless N300 Router + Wireless N300 Adapter Combo (DIR-615+DWA-130)
D-Link DKT-408 Wireless N300 Router + Wireless N300 Adapter Combo (DIR-615+DWA-130)

Pros: reliable, cool, high throughput, good value router that is compatible with DD-WRT. Like a few others I did not bother with the D-Link stock firmware as I have had prior challeneges with other D-Link software. Once DD-WRT was installed it worked like a champ though, see Other Thoughts for some notes on my usage with DD-WRT.

Cons: It doesn't come pre-installed with DD-WRT

Overall Review: I bought two of these with the intention of having one serve as a client-bridge. After flashing the newest firmware on the devices (which is SUPER easy, it can all be done through the standard web GUI... see the DD-WRT site for details), I set up the internet access with ease, but ran into several issues with formatting the 2nd device as a Client Bridge. It turns out the DD-WRT build 15778 does not play nicely with the client-bridge functions, so if that is your intention with this device use build 14896. Once i downgraded to that firmware, it worked "out of the box" with little to no extra coaxing required. (It may also be worth mentioning, both of my devices are rev E3).

Solid PSU - Missing Items

Rosewill HIVE Series, HIVE-650S, 650W Fully Modular Power Supply, 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified, Single +12V Rail, SLI & CrossFire Ready, Black
Rosewill HIVE Series, HIVE-650S, 650W Fully Modular Power Supply, 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified, Single +12V Rail, SLI & CrossFire Ready, Black

Pros: It has been a solid PSU, however I can't fully review it without all of the proper pieces... please see the cons...

Cons: There is obviously some manufacturing mishap at Rosewill as I was yet another purchaser of this product to NOT receive the second PCIe cable. I do not wish to go through the hassle of an RMA (yet), as I just got the other parts of my system and can put together most of it without the cable. I did call Rosewill and submit an issue and was promised that I would be tended to. In the meantime I will be looking for some other type of 3rd party replacement.

Overall Review: I'm not one to rant and rave, especially since I find most of Rosewill's products to be solid. However I do think more could/should be done to address this issue, like provide newegg with additional cables to ship with the PSU once an issue was realized. It is really frustrating to be held up by such a silly mistake.
