Pros: Quiet, especially at lower voltage. I've had 5 mounted as casefans for 10 months, running at about 900rpm
Cons: Of the 5, one is mounted behind the CPU heatsink and I occasionally have it set to run faster than the others. At the nine month mark, it no longer starts reliably, even with full voltage. After a nudge from a pencil it spins, but it will need to be replaced.
Overall Review: Probably best to get the faster spinning version (the F) and feed it a lower voltage. The faster models are apparently more reliable at starting with low voltage. Will likely replace my failing E with an F
half dead
Pros: Single platter, thin. Very fast (over 100mb/sec), when it works
Cons: Ordered two for RAID 1. One is not recognized by my RAID card. It is usable when attached directly to my mobo, but HDtune shows degraded performance next to the working drive, with severe dips in speed.
Overall Review: one of two unusable immediately out of the box :(
Look great
Pros: Portable, can stuff 2 of them in my backpack with a couple laptops. Resolution and extra height from the 16:10 is great. Haven't had a chance to hook them up to something that could drive the full refresh rate so I can't say how well that goes, but at 60hz with that resolution they are splendid for travel. Thin bezels
Cons: One of them had a stuck pixel near the right side. I arrange them so that one is on my right and the pixel is not noticeable, but it is glaring if I have it on the left side and the pixel is close to me. Hard to take full advantage of the thin bezels when the inputs are on the side: can't put them both right up against another monitor (or each other) unless one of them is upside down. Doable, but bothers me aesthetically
Overall Review: Definite recommendation for the price
fragile
Pros: nice specs for the price. Discrete GFX card
Cons: needless glass coating on the lid. Came chipped out of the box. It's a minor cosmetic thing, but cosmetics is what they had in mind when they made it all shiny and glass, which is counterproductive top say the least when it can't even survive the shipping process. If they're going to make a big deal out of it so will I
Overall Review: can't get a version without a touchscreen, as you can in overseas markets. Also can't get a version with higher RAM and storage, as you can in overseas markets. Weak outing
USB3 speeds, in write too
Pros: can be written to at much faster than USB2 speeds, unlike cheaper "USB 3" drives that only exceed USB2 speed on reads. OK price for capacity
Cons: Connector when extended isn't locked into place with full extension, but can retract a bit still. Makes for a weird feeling trying to insert it into a USB port, but it works
did what it needed to no problem
Pros: everything needed to get into my iphone 5s, all worked as expected
Cons: suction cup crimped a bit at the edge, slightly reduced the area that could form a seal with the screen
