Pros: You get a case and a power supply for a low price. I bought it on sale so it was a bargain. Stylish and functional. Both side panels are easy to remove to access the drives. Easier and cheaper than building a case yourself.
Cons: This is the lowest quality case I have ever seen! Front bezel arrived broken or cracked in three places. The case was out of square. Many of the tabs and fittings needed to be bent back into place before they could be used. The steel for the case is very thin and pliable allowing it to warp and flex. The case doesn't use any kind of easy mount drive brackets so you have to remove both side panel to add, relocate, or remove your hard drives. The floppy drive bracket is very difficult access to mount the drive. The power / HDD LED front panel connectors are labeled correctly but color coded wrong. The included fan and front power light require a IDE Drive power connector.
Other Thoughts: The broken bezel was caused by the case being out of square. The plastic bezel wasn't able to flex enough to connect to the case without breaking. The 5.25" drive bay covers would stay in and were out of alignment because of the warped case / broken bezel. I removed the front panel from the case and then unscrewed the bezel from the panel to glue it back together and reinforce it. On a flat surface such as a table I straightened the case by pushing down on the problem areas of the case until it was flat with the table.
If I wasn't giving this computer away and the shipping and restocking fee weren't going to be more than the price I paid, I would have returned the case.
Overall, the case does the job and even with the work I had to put into it, I got my money's worth out of it.
This review is from: ASUS P7Q57-M DO/CSM LGA 1156 Intel Q57 HDMI Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Pros: I bought the open box so the price was right. This has useful legacy features such as PS/2 connectors for mouse and keyboard as well as IDE and floppy drive connectors. The HDMI connector works great as does the on-board video when you match the motherboard with a compatible processor with video capability. Decent overclocking and other BIOS options. The memory slots only lock on one end so there isn't a conflict with your video card if used.
This was the only LGA 1156 Micro ATX MB I could find with FDD, IDE, and PS/2 connectors.
Cons: You'll likely need to plug the ATX 20+4 power cable in multiple times before you get it to work! The CPU fan error is annoying and causes the system to shut down after 30 minutes of idle time (see below). The FDD connector is at the bottom of the board about half way back which is fine unless your drive is near the top of your case which might be a problem since FDD cables aren't very long. The SATA connectors are right-angled toward the front of the PC which could be difficult to access if your 3.5" drives are near the bottom of your case.
I don't reccomend this motherboard for the first time system builder or someone not skilled at "dealing" with a motherboard that doesn't "just work". You'll need to be patient with this motherboard to get it to work. Not really Plug-N-Play!
Other Thoughts: I matched this MB with an Intel Core i3-560 3.33GHz CPU, 2GB Kingston KVR1333D3K2/2GR memory, Western Digital WD5000AAKS 500GB SATA HDD, used case, power supply, DVD-RW, and FDD. I built this system for my 10 year old. It runs great but not without problems.
To overcome the CPU Fan Error and resulting shutdown after 30 minutes of idle time, you HAVE to set you ME (service) switch to "On". You'll see either in BIOS or the accompanying software that the fan is working correctly and being monitored accurately. I set the BIOS hardware monitor to ignore the fan error.
Pros: Dropped it in and it worked! This is a great processor for a budget system. It is fast enough for most systems but affordable. The on-board video when matched with a compatible motherboard met my expectations. Comes complete with a fan and heatsink.
Cons: It isn't an Intel Core i7.
Other Thoughts: I matched this with an Asus P7Q57-M DO motherboard and 2GB Kingston KVR1333D3K2/2GR memory. Build a system for my kid from a used case. Runs Windows XP great.READ FULL REVIEW
